The management was good, it was hard collar and they make no secret of that. The pay structure is strange, i.e. fork lift truck drivers get the same money as the machinists.
Pros
Good Management
Cons
Long hours

I enjoyed working at JCB very much and miss working there since my Moter bike injury... 18months ago.. I hope to be able to return to work again at JCB once my ankle is completely fixed and I can walk properly again.

Fast paced work. Permanent employees are treated like royalty, agency workers treated like something they've trodden in. Made to do overtime, If you couldn't then you were shown the door.
Pros
Decent money for the area
Cons
Treated badly

I would never go back to work for this company. Saw how they shed lots of good people earlier in 2020. That told me everything.Very aggressive with team members and supplier base.

Can be a bit of an old boys club in some areas, with management trying to incorporate production line efficiencies on an R&D facilities tended to be more of a restriction than a benefit. An example would be stopping late to complete a test only to be pulled up the following morning on why i had clocked in at 07:27, as it was deemed to be not enough time to get to my desk and be working for 07:30. With HR only being able to see what the book says. Petty stuff like that. On the whole its not a bad place to work, just a few issues and stuff around common sense.
Pros
Steady and safe if your not on the production line.
Cons
Working for a company that treats its production staff in the way it does. not great!!.

I spent 4 months here total from two sections. Job itself was fine. I was at DIFF PACK (World Parts Centre), packing, banding, shrinkwrapping and palletising spare parts for heavy machinery. There were no performance requirements, sometimes they offered 1 or 2 hrs of overtime for weekdays, occasionally even Saturdays, being paid a time and a half. 39 hrs there resulted 43 paid hours, including attendance bonus. However, few people were actually nice and the H&S system was over the edge. I felt there like a 5-year old, protected by their parents at any cost to avoid any source of injuries. Packing area barricated off when FLT driver moves the finished stock to putaway area, cameras installed to watch every move we made, exceedeing 25kgs of lifting limit may cause to be dismissed (that's how I got fired btw). Managers are rubbish, some colleagues complaining and giving up other for every issue they see (lazy ones, obviously bored). Negatives overshadowed positives. No more!

I worked myself to the bone over 10 years, done loads of none paid hours travelling around the globe at weekends only to be kicked through the door in June. If you work for them they will pay you well but do not think your safe there. I made that terrible mistake.
Pros
Good pay and benefits.
Cons
Expected to do none paid work and fixed holidays.

Old-fashioned company with traditional culture- want you at your desk, always!! Only 30 mins for lunch stuck in middle of countryside... colleagues friendly but external people hired to come in above internal promotion

Country setting, ok salary

Engineering the products to secure a market in the future doesn't seem to matter! With a market downturn due to Covid 19 JCB made 900+ Office and Engineering Staff redundant thus compromising their ability to develop the products they'll need to remain competitive in the future.
Pros
None
Cons
Short-sighted management team.
