Great sense of community and plenty of support from management

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The sense of community really makes the job stand out from other airlines. The values of the company are often witnessed through all aspects of the company. Pay is far superior than any other UK airline short or longhaul. Commission really boosts the already amazing basic salary. Rosters are very crowded often doing 10 + hour duties 5 days in a row. The starting 9 month contract is also a slight disadvantage as your winter months are spent without any income from the airline. The very early starts and late finishes can become very fatiguing especially during the winter months but the company’s just culture allows for fair changes to your roster in order to help you feel more energised and less fatigued

No work life balance, kpis and micromanaging

Work here if you’re all for favouritism, no life, constant headache about kpis, enjoy threats about getting the sack if you’re ill etc etc you are a robot and that’s that. Good luck.

Great company

Great company with great culture.Very good perks, very inclusive.Very safety oriented. A great company to start anyone’s journey as cabin crew in the aviation industry

Rude and judgmental people/staff

Long and unrealistic hours for a rubbish salary, petty/gossipy work environment and team leaders/supervisors who look for any opportunity to pick on you and make you feel like an adult school child being picked on by a bullying teacher. There's so many easier jobs you can do for realistic working hours, and for a higher salary too.

Pros

None

Cons

Literally everything

Great Experience but Not Rewarding

My 1st role working within Aviation/Travel and I did learn a lot and it also helped me grow more as a person but it came with a price. The environment is very tiring, stressful and toxic, management don't appreciate staff at all and they, including Supervisors were able to do and have stuff that us FOH weren't allowed i.e having a drink, heating when it was freezing cold, this includes being told when we were allowed to wear our coats on check in (sometimes the entrance doors broke and we're left open in baltic conditions), we were treated and spoken to like children and you could end up doing the same duty 3 days in a row (standing on your feet customer helping), you would also get spoken to like rubbish by passengers (which was worse during COVID, everything was OUR fault). The pay isn't great for what you have to do, there's no assistance with transport for when you finish at 3am, which was especially dangerous for female workers. There isn't any encouragement for promotion or progression.

Pros

Colleagues, Discounted Holidays

Cons

Long Hours, Stressful, Bully Culture, Low Pay, Toxic Work Environment

No management skills toxic to the max

I worked there 5 years last 2 year were horrible. 95% of team leaders and mangers do not understand mental health some staff left due to being treated so poorly. They have never managed a team of 80 in their life and were quick to slag you off to other members of staff There was definitely favouring certain members of staff. The first few years when we had proper management who know how to treat their staff it was a wonderful place to work but now the department is toxic no support they took that management away and gave all the responsibility to a bunch of kids that have no life experience

Lack of support, toxic environment

Lack of support throughout the role, even after asking multiple times, so conversion and confidence is affected. Managers talk about their travel advisors to other travel advisors, and share personal details. No annual leave availability due to being short staffed, which just shows they cannot retain the staff. Mental and physical health affected due to overall lack of support and not enough time throughout the day to keep on top of tasks/emails.

Awful Management who do not care about their staff

The people you work with day in day out make the job really fun but management on the other hand ruin what could be an exceptional place to work. Staff turnover is through the roof, simply because of management. Experienced staff who have worked their backsides off for years and years are still on part-time contracts over the winter months because management prefer to think about every single way they can save money rather than caring about colleague welfare. This is supposed to be the UK’s third biggest airline and more importantly, the UK’s NUMBER ONE TOUR OPERATOR! A multi million pound company and they don’t want to part with a few extra pounds a week giving colleagues, especially experienced colleagues who have worked here for years full time contracts year round! Like what more do they need to do to be recognised and appreciated with a full time year round contract? Nobody wants to work at a place where your income fluctuates so much each month. Yet they are happy enough to spend all that money on recruitment drives and new starter training every single year rather than spending that money on providing their existing experienced staff with full time contracts. Because of this so many experienced staff leave to work somewhere where they will be treated a lot better. You are just a number when you work here. They don’t care if you are having problems at home in regards to your personal life, they won’t let you leave work early if you need to unless your face really fits. The managers don’t want to know. All they care about is getting flights out on time and lining their -

Awful

Management have no patience for new starters and favour those that have been there longer. No praise what so ever. Glad I left as worst place ever worked as makes you feel so little in the work place

Good workplace

Been here for 6 months now, enjoying talking to customers and helping them. Hours work well for me. Training was very good 4 weeks then gradbay for two if I remember correctly, made great friends even though we were working from home.

Hard work and not appreciated

A typical day at work involves answering calls from two departments, you get two minutes wrap before the next call, it is exhaustingMy manager was terrible, she controlled the team with time off the phones for her favorites and if you weren't one of the favorites beware..Support gave different answers to others and team leaders gave other answers but even though the messages and answers are different.... Don't make a mistake..

Pros

Some nice people

Cons

Some not nice managers and development leads

Warning

I could not recommend less that you apply for a job here. The environment is extremely toxic with it being your own colleges going out their way to purposely sabotage you on the daily to cover their own mistakes. The amount of snitches there are, over the pettiest, minor things, is ridiculous, considering we’re all adults…. Embarrassing.

Great place to work, a lot of great people to meet and talk to on a daily basis. The atmosphere is good in the office and everyone welcomes you with a smile.

Good job long hours

Easy job to understand and get use to and supervisors and friendly. Hours and pay is good but start times are hard as they can be as early as 3am but get use to it.

Shocking

Supervisors are lovely but the duty managers are something else, have some sort of superiority when in actuality non of them are particularly educated but we’re just able to move up in the role.

Changes are implemented in a chaotic and reactive fashion

The colleagues and customers are the best part of this job, as well as being able to work remotely. Even allowing for a volatile industry the random and chaotic changes to work practices and procedures can sometimes beggar belief.

Pros

Remote working and holiday discounts

Cons

Inexperienced management and reactive rather than responsive solutions

Horrible

I’m my experience I found it very toxic and making my mental health bad to the point I couldn’t go to work, not managing there staff well, they only give you 3 days sick leave a year. I personally wouldn’t recommend the company, since leaving the company I’ve been more positive and my healths been better aswell
