Great place to kickstart your career
Juicer (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 23 September 2021
Featured review
Joe & The Juice selected this as a representative reviewI work in the company for 2 and half years and honestly, it's been an amazing journey. I met amazing people, learned new skills and developed my career. Everyone will find their place, helpful management will help and guide through every step - starting from basics and finishing with personal advice. It may be hard at the beginning, but it's really rewarding afterwards. You can climb the "ladder" as high as you want, it depends only on you. And there's full support to do it!
Pros
Great people, free lunch, unlimited coffee, social life initiatives.
Cons
Early hours (if you're not a morning person)

Unique and exciting
HR (Current Employee) - Soho, Greater London - 30 November 2023
Everyday is a different day when you work at JOE. Yes the job is the same, but you learn new skills and meet different people. It’s an ever growing company which means you’ll be able to grow and achieve the most unexpected skills whilst you work here. If you think you’re a “people person” this is the place for you but also remember to be open minded, communicate how you feel and most importantly, have no expectations and try to have fun!
Pros
Free food
Cons
Pay can be so much better

Great culture.
Trainee (Current Employee) - North Audley - 29 November 2023
Working at Joe & the Juice has been a truly exceptional experience, surpassing any workplace I've been a part of. The atmosphere exudes a vibrant energy, the culture is both invigorating and inclusive, and the people I've encountered have made my time here truly unforgettable. It's a unique blend of creativity, passion, and camaraderie that sets Joe & the Juice apart, making it not just a workplace, but a community where every day brings new opportunities for growth and connection. I am grateful for the enriching environment that has become more than a job—it's a source of inspiration and fulfillment.

Poor management, terrible work environment
Juicer (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 28 November 2023
I had three different bar managers in 4 months of working there. One got fired, the other left and I never got to meet the new one as I didn't share any shifts with them before I left. There was so much drama amongst management and the area manager gave unfair treatment amongst juicers (he was more lenient with some compared to others) when it came to finding covers for our shifts on days we couldn't come in. Equipment would break down and we couldn't make juice for entire day even though many requests given for a new centrifuge. Just overall poor management and poor treatment of juicers.

Horrible Management who completely neglect juicers health and safety.
Shift Manager (Former Employee) - London - 27 November 2023
Management is very bad when it comes to helping and listening out to your stores problems that are risks to yours and customers health and safety. Stupid hours since they ask you to go to other stores since they have a budget. Do not apply if you care about your mental health and wellbeing.

Too much favouritism and gossip
Juicer (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 8 November 2023
If management doesn't like you, they will make snarky comments, micromanage you until you cannot take it anymore. Instead of doing their actual job they hang out together in cliques so there's no way you can make a formal complaint because they all have each others back. If you take a while to learn the processes, they will become passive aggressive towards you without communicating directly about what can be improved. Enjoyable part were the customers, and the satisfaction on their faces as you serve their favourite products. Unfortunately, if you are dealing with a micromanager that criticizes you constantly, that's enough for you to run away from the job despite the decent environment. Personal problems I had with company. - Toilet was broken, and as the role of Juicer I was in charge of stepping into the raw sewage leak to turn off the water instead of a professional plumber to fix the problem. - Was criticised for wanting to go for a lunch break the last hour i finished work (I was working an 8 hour shift from 8am to 4pm) The next shift crew cam at the time I decided to have a break as there was an intense rush throughout the shift - the manager complained to me that i don't need to go for a break as my shift is nearly over - I objected to this and then the manager demanded that I have to do a 2 on 1 conversation. (Tried to make me do unpaid labor) - During the 2 on 1 conversation, I was blamed for making bad coffee, being lazy, being slow, being bad at closing - mind you I was only working just under 3 months. And during the talk the manager raised their voice at me -
Pros
free food

Horrible Workplace
Juicer (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 22 October 2023
Extremely demanding job for very little reward, an extreme cult like culture that can be very frightening. they want you to complete 15 exams just to be allowed to make juice? shifts are understaffed and you’re overworked. would not recommend. They also deduct from your wages regardless of whether you eat or not.
Pros
None
Cons
Over worked, underpaid, demanding job, understaffed, cult culture

Busy and low pay
Team Member (Former Employee) - London England - 12 October 2023
They have you working so hard sometimes too busy for a break and pay for a beginner is £10.60 and once you do exams and so on it goes up to £11. A perk is the free food on shift but that’s about it.

Fun, overworked at times. Make products and clean
Shift Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 23 September 2023
Team can be really fun. As normal as any hospitality place but can meet some cool people. Can be quiet at times then very busy. Very low retention as employees can feel overworked. Good quality products and menu. Good progress and loads of training and a lot cleaning daily. Be friendly, make products and clean

Honestly really depends on your manager and how well organised they are but a good job for people who want a flexible part time position, especially students

Fun job
Shift Manager (Former Employee) - Wimbledon, Greater London - 21 September 2023
I love working at Joe and the juice it had a great atmosphere and I made friends for life. The management could have been better as there were times when new trainees did not know what to fo however overall it was managed well.

Defeating
Juicer (Current Employee) - Notting Hill - 19 September 2023
Joe and the juice is a lot of fun to work at at the start. They promote the job robe extremely fun but for the most part I really didn’t enjoy the job. You do way more than you get paid for, making coffees, juices and sandwiches at the same time is more intense than it seems, l often left work with a ton of cuts, burns and bruises. Your experience at this job comes down to the branch you’re at, i was quite unlucky, I loved my team however customers were usually pretty horrible.

Fairly flexible, difficult hours
Juicer (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 12 September 2023
Fairly flexible although not as much as its made out to be. Tiring work but can be rewarding. Difficult hours as shifts are not regular so it is hard to make plans.

Boring and mundane work
Juicer (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 7 September 2023
Co-workers are exhausted and so am I. You have to work an insane amount to make rent because shift lengths vary wildly. It's a huge chain with a reputation so you'll always get more delivery orders than can be handled in the space with no way to regulate them. The type of people who buy products are usually spoiled and have no consideration for workers, which is a result of their marketing.

management is a mess
Juicer (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 September 2023
didnt feel very appreciated, the manager clearly had his favourites and would give them the best shifts, while the others were stuck with whatever was left. no flexibility and youre expected to do way more work than you are being paid for

Only work here if you'll do minimal hours!
The people are great, but the management is horrible. There is no workplace culture other than making orders as fast as possible. In smaller bars, Upper management will forget you exist and not help you at all. The bar managers go unchecked and get away with skipping work. Also in smaller bars you're expected to clean EVERYTHING while larger ones get cleaners. You also have no say into where you are placed. Holidays are never approved, managers take years to reply and youre seen as a number not a person.
Pros
free lunch
Cons
everything else
