Why did you leave your job at John Lewis?

  • If a manager doesn't like you they will do anything to get rid of you. From bullying and frustrating you. If you're someone with mental health it will more than likely get worse. Then you will be punished for being sick. At the same time the wages are much lower than other companies not worth it. Just good company to put on your cv but not to work for.

  • Failed their probation as a result of being screwed over and some colleagues who are fixed in their old ways talking rubbish down behind my back and management whom couldn't run a bath

  • Horrible environment and bullying culture. If you don’t mind being treated as a minion and being shouted and sworn at you’ll be fine!!

  • Unlawful deduction of pay! Horrible shift patterns. Weak pay scale. Senior management taking large bonuses while lower level partners bonuses reduced DRAMATICALLY.

  • Constructive dismissal .
    After standing up to John Lewis for wrongful serious accusations to side with a senior manager who was totally in the wrong.

    For this I was bullied to the point I threatened them with legal action.

    If you join John Lewis, join a trade union before they screw you over.

  • Absolutely joke what u take on phone abused verbally John Lewis have zero care about employees they pretend but sadly wid dismiss u in a second if you dont grovel to their appallingly rude customers

  • Low chance of progression, low pay, childish staff, long hours, terrible management

  • Bullied verbally and physically. No room for progression. Managers just stand around chatting in groups. Poor pay for the lesser mortals. No leeway to have rota or hours changed. Some staff (minions!) are absolutely fantastic though. Sadly JL is NOT what it’s cracked up to be or perceived to be by the outside world.

  • Sadly John Lewis is not how I remember from previous years the amount of change in them now is sad worked in 2 stores and in am disapionted by Rota changes going from 5 weeks to 2 weeks Rota left one store because was made to cash up 20 consession counters then John Lewis own till banks because they wanted 2 partners doing it and not 4 sadly then the next John Lewis store I worked in was forced into a department that I was not on my contract to work on because one person left there very unprofessional and sadly not for me
