Our Impact

We understand the importance of operating in an ethical and sustainable way, whilst managing our environmental and social impacts. We are always striving to find new and innovative ways in which we can help the greater community. Our plants operate both local and national CSR initiatives that are chosen by them. Some of these include donating towels to animal sanctuaries, providing help for young carers, sponsoring local football teams, helping with school projects, reducing plastics on site and fundraising for charities such as Great Ormond Street and Cancer Research UK.

Last year we completed more than 6,500 training sessions across all areas of our business. Using the skills and experience of our in-house Learning and Development team and external development agencies, we are helping our employees to grow and to have the right tools to be the future rising stars of our business. In 2018 our Learning and Development team beat off stiff competition to win a prestigious Talent Management Award for our in-house Academy at the Personnel Today Awards. Feedback from participants in our Johnsons Academy has shown that the confidence and skill of the people involved increased considerably over a 12 month period with over 70% of Academy members promoted to a new position within our organisation over an 18 month period. This is something we are extremely proud of!
