Reviews for Pharmacist at Kamsons Pharmacy
productive and fun workplace
pharmacist assistant (Former Employee) - ENG - 2 October 2014
I worked full day and usually started by collecting prescriptions from nearby surgery. I learned how to:1) label and dispense prescriptions 2)order items 3)sell over the counter 4) prepare blister packs 5) serve the customer. My manager was one of the best manager, he was very organized and helpful. I had a very healthy and friendly relationship with my co-workers, they all were very kind. The hardest part of the job was when the customers asked me about medicine and I did not have enough information to answer their question. I really enjoyed serving the customers and build up friendly relationship with them.
Pros
great management and friendly environment
Cons
boring sometimes when there were no customer

Fast paced and can often be stressful but management understanding, fair and supportive.
Pharmacist Manager (Former Employee) - Bognor Regis - 5 February 2023
Community pharmacy is hard work, unfortunately it is the nature of the job. It is busy, fast-paced and often very stressful, and similar to every other job recruitment is difficult, but I really enjoyed my time working there. Unlike some other pharmacy chains, management are all pharmacists and so they understand the challenges involved in the job, and the priority for patient safety over any targets. Certainly in the area I worked, there was a good support network between other managers and area manager approachable and very helpful. Also plenty of support available from head office. Pharmacists/managers generally work for Kamsons for prolonged periods of time which speaks for itself. My experience of working for Kamsons was an overwhelmingly positive one. Salary is average to good, bonus scheme for managers good, but other considerations such as poor pension, basic statutory maternity pay, basic statutory sick pay only.
Pros
Supportive workplace environment, great people; not driven towards targets
Cons
Depending on location/hours, can be long days sometimes with a very brief lunch; often stressful; poor benefits

Fast paced and innovative company
Locum Pharmacist (Former Employee) - Crawley, West Sussex - 14 January 2022
If you are looking for a fast paced and stimulating job- then the Kamsons Crawley shops are it. I have worked in Kamsons in South gate and in Broadfield a few times and these are 100% places i would go back to. Unlike other big companies, Kamsons is innovative and very forward thinking especially in its operations. They are always well staffed and always have the correct technology to make jobs and lives easier. I only managed to work at Broadfield for a short time and was impressed with how functional the team was and how collaborative all the Crawley shops were. You definitely feel like you are part of a wider community. Also I received support not only from head office- but also from Kamsons pharmacists working in the local area. Having someone in the same profession nearby to offer advice is really handy especially if you’re newly qualified. Additionally I had a very hands-on area manager who was easily contactable if there was any queries or issues and readily helped me solve them. With Kamsons, technical and managerial support are phone calls away and from my own experience, with other companies- this is never the case. I think as a pharmacist, it’s so easy to feel so isolated but with Kamsons you’re never really alone and you always have that support when needed.
Pros
Bonuses Mileage paid Locum pay on time Great staff
Cons
Long hours Some shops don’t have parking Disrance
