Never go anywhere near this company. They will keep you out for 16 hours a day driving and the law does nothing about them, if you try to refuse you will have to endure arguments with Managers on the phone and then be called for interview and threatened with the sack. Drivers have accidents due to being tired they then take the money out of your wages .for.theitdddadddamageddamage 9

Unfit vehicles, tetrible management, disgraceful pay and conditions, flout the road traffic laws.

I enjoyed the job as a recovery driver however during busy times you would receive jobs after jobs even if you hadn’t finished the job you was on, in quiet days you’d sit around a lot there was a couple of days where I wouldn’t get any jobs which wasn’t so bad as it’s an hourly rate, the dispatch manager at the time didn’t care about anything else but getting jobs done so requesting to him was like you’ve just insulted him, there was times where they would send you on jobs that required towing which at the time I didn’t have a towing licence. The best part was how you felt helping someone or a family continue with there trip weather you had just changed there wheel of recovered them to the destination, the bad part was you never knew where you was going to be, I was a recovery driver based in Kent however I spent most of my time in and around London.
Pros
Feeling accomplished when helping families
Cons
You could be working 14/15 hour days/nights

where do I start? my partner works for them, I never see him, he is stressed all the time, the pay is rubbish, they deduct pay for anything. we live at the end of medway so logic would say to give him jobs in kent……...noooo, north London straight away with an irate member moaning at him for taking so long. he is always shoved into Essex and London which takes him well over an hour plus to get there, I can only presume my man is not the only person in kent that works for them!then they expect you to accept overtime...….aint gonna happen when my partner gets home at 2 in the morning! forget 12 hour shifts, my other half does minimum 15 hours, but most times 18 to 19 hours, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT A LIFE!!!!!!!!!

Training is very basic , 3 days classroom and 1 1/2 van or recovery truck training A typical day at work would be very demanding , control will MSG every 5 min's to hurry you up as got another job ready and waiting Management do not care about staff unless you call in sick and then they ring and ring to you go and do your shift Control love to give you one more job 5 min's before your 12 hrs are up and could be 30 min's driving before you even look at car The job is perfect if you have no experience in the motor trade as they will take anyone on that can change a wheel or battery
Pros
Some members give you some nice tips
Cons

Stay clear of this horrid company they have no people skills what so ever As for the 32k a year it's a total lie and false advertising To get the 32k a year there is so many hoops you have to jump through to get it There IS NO support from the management who are quick enough to critise you but never say anything positive So be advised give this company a very wide berth
Pros
Take truck home
Cons
You never finish on time and its never 12 hours

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !!!!! I worked for kavanagh and wished I'd read all the reviews first. Loads of overtime, but you dont get paid for it, 5 days training-three of those watching videos. The vehicle I had wasn't serviced or even inspected for three months - ILLEGAL ! and they left me driving around a recovery vehicle with a bald tyre for 7 days, ILLEGAL. They try and tell you theyre an emergency service so dont need to abide by the law, but theyre lying, they risk your lisence every day just to line theyre pockets and not yours. When you leave the company dont hand your notice in, coz you wont get paid, just quit the day you get paid - theres 12 drivers taking them to court at the moment just to get their money
Pros
none
Cons
15 hour days, no breaks, no breaks, bad conditions, the list is endless

Kavanagh will employ people from all walks of life, you don't need experience as basic training is given. Be warned, the training is not ideal, the pay is not as good as advertised, morale is non existant, trucks are poorly maintained & you are not supplied with the kit you need. If you are looking for a short term job role to give you experience in the vehicle recovery industry then Kavanaghs is the job for you. Why am I still here? because we have a good team & I like a challenge. Recent management changes have however led to me considering alternative employment prospects. please remember that you are actually paid a daily rate & not a salary.
Pros
work from home address.
Cons
too many to mention.

People who know nothing about cars are employing people who know nothing about cars and they give them a van and let them fix cars Control room know nothing about cars but give drivers advice on how to fix them everyone at kavanagh is useless waste of time and energy and the only people who are decent and honest and respectable in that place are the drivers who want to make a difference aandwho know what a car is and how it works roadsides and recovery drivers who have been there the longer than the newbies should be on the most pay but they are on the lowest pay
