Hated working for KMPT
Health Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Dartford - 27 August 2022
They do not care about their staff at all. The salary is rubbish compared to how stressed out you get and how much of a caseload of work you have. Terrible team work. Ruined my love for working within the care sector.

Good place to work

good place to work, especially if you have good colleagues. Underpaid for the workload and responsibilities, can be stressful when short staffed as more put on you. Management can be helpful.
Pros
Good environment
Cons

Disappointing
Community Mental Health Nurse (Former Employee) - Medway, Kent - 13 June 2021
If you manage to get into a team where people are generally nice then you are in luck. Higher management - band 8 has no idea about what happens on lower levels and is interested in numbers only. They invest in training (if you have a supportive team manager) but do not offer career progression. They want you to work on the same level when in other trust depending on training you do, that would equal to progression of one or even two bands up! Complete lack of flexibility too … no perks in terms of extra benefits like with other trusts e.g extra day off when you are moving, extra 2 days off if you had no sick days in the previous year etc
Pros
It is NHS after all so some security
Cons
No career progression opportunities, higher management not interested in staff

If your face fits....
HCA/Support Worker (Former Employee) - Maidstone, Kent - 18 April 2021
If your face doesnt fit with the rest of the staff, give up now. Expected to do job with no training. Management dont listen and will bully you into doing jobs that are unsafe. Time off sick is threatened with disciplinary action. Dont expect any back up from colleagues, they are more than happy to throw you under the bus.
Pros
Hometime
Cons
Almost everything

Pretty good
Health Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Maidstone, Kent - 23 December 2019
Pretty good place to work, supervision every 6 weeks to monitor progress and identify your needs in the job. Also group supervision weekly, constant involvement by management etc. Has potential to be a stressful environment but it is handled very well. The people are excellent

KMPT is an unfair and corrupt organisation
Performance officer (Former Employee) - Maidstone, Kent - 12 September 2019
KMPT is an unfair and corrupt organisation. Lazy management earn ridiculous money doing very little. This is a scandal considering it is tax payers money. The Trust is unfair and discriminates.

Fantastic forward thinking trust
Mental Health Nurse (Current Employee) - Maidstone, Kent - 20 March 2018
If you want to work in an innovative and progressive work place, then this is for you. If you’re willing to work hard for the benefit of service users then it’s a fantastic place to work. It won’t tolerate poor practice, laziness or bad attitudes but if you have a good heart with integrity then I couldn’t recommend it more!!
Pros
Innovative and always striving to improve

Difficult but generally good
Community Psychiatric Nurse (Current Employee) - Canterbury - 1 February 2018
Within healthcare there are multiple challenges. Within this trust there is a definite requirement for balance between management and good practices. At times it can feel that there is an imbalance but this feeds into politics. The trust as a whole functions well and is supportive to staff during difficult periods.

Awful management
Administrator (Former Employee) - Rochester, Kent - 23 November 2017
Ended up leaving due to poor management. Even put in complaint for it to be shunned and dismissed never felt so let down and under valued in a job. Management seem to stick together and not worry about staff complaints no matter that they have you in tears

Awful place to work.
Housekeeper (Current Employee) - Canterbury - 24 July 2017
Bullying is rife amongst staff, in particular from management. A lot of dishonesty and the most consistently incompetent organisation I have ever worked for. Do not recommend to anyone to put themselves through trying to work there.
Pros
Pay is higher than average for the industry
Cons
Unhealthy and unpleasant bullying culture
