Stressful, every dayNothing, I learned Poor management, no communication from.anyone other than them wanting you to cover calls then they will.answer. Different cultures,Getting someone to answer the phone when you call them or the offices. Poor communication again.Clients are lovely.

Supportive colleagues ,friendly service users and good management .My first day at work was not very funny because I was seriously afraid of the new service users but I got my confident back because of the good management staff ,they are always there for us and also the care manager and the management staff suprise us one day by working as a care workers when the service users we had that day was too much and we were short of care workers ,they humble themselves and work ….seriously I was very surprise and happy for the good example ….The key 2 care Ltd always pay wages on time and they are friendly to talk to ….Happy to be a member ….hopping to retire here if God permit

What is the best part of working at the company?There are no best parts working for this company whatsoever. They do not pay the travel rate they say in the interview, even when asked to confirm the rate of travel pay, they lied. I found that out in my first month's pay.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?You're left to your own devices, unreliable when you need advice, usually no answer on the out of hours number...What is the work environment and culture like at the company?The care staff, with the odd exception were great, it's a shame about the company they work for.What is a typical day like for you at the company?What started off great, turned to unhappiness and disappointment.

Poor senior staff

Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - 16 May 2023

Good: The residents are lovely, you can have challenging days but this is part of the job. Other healthcare assistants are great, supportive and willing to help each other. Training was good and informative - it didn't take long to arrange a shadow shift which was helpful, especially if you're new to care and/or the company. Bad: The senior staff are horrible. They do not listen to you when you raise concerns. They are horrible if you do not answer your phone on your days off. They do not care if you are busy on your day off and expect to be told what you are doing. They can get funny with you if you don't do overtime. I also did not appreciate the method of contact the senior staff used, although I have not seen anyone else have this particular experience. The amount of times I cried because of the way I was treated by senior members - I will never go back because of these reasons.Although the shadow shift was good and quick to arrange, it was a 'good' introduction. It was clear some duties were not explained well to all members of staff - meaning this was incorrectly taught to me. Which meant senior staff would talk to me about particular duties being incorrect - however, this could have been solved if senior management had properly trained staff in this area.

Long hours, not always guaranteed a break, senior/higher staff.

Supportive colleagues and Management

When I was about to start working for Key2Care Ltd, I was a bit scared as to how the whole thing will turn out like working with new colleagues and new clients with different care needs... the feeling then wasn't funny.. but when I started working, it was a different thing entirely from what was going on in my head.. The team are very supportive and they helped me conquered my fears.God bless the management and care team.

Poor management , zero confidentiality

Lack of communication from management , only follow rules when it suits them. Service users calls not covered and combining 2 calls in to one. Management doesn't take any responsibility and talks about colleagues private lives to other members of staff . Don't work here if you don't want calls piled on you at 4 in the morning or completely taken from you because you may of said no to something.

The bad job in my life! Unwanted career shifts, it's never fair to pay for oil, which is never covered .Too busy a program for nothing, money is not enough for what we do,for example £ 500 every two weeks is not admissible

Worked for key2care since April 2021, the complex I work for has a very supportive and very fair manager. We have a varied selection of service users so no 2 days are the same. Care is a very rewarding job, I started as a care worker and worked my way up, the training programme is very informative and on going throughout the employment. I feel key2care as a company is a very good company to work for as there is always someone there for advice and support for any concerns.

Great company to work for!

I have worked for different care companies, but Key 2 Care is the best company so far. I have received so much support from the management and most important they make you feel welcome. This company offer so many benefits like your Birthday off and double pay in Bank holidays which is great when you want to top up your wages and most important Key 2 Care offer flexibility to work around your own commitments.
