ok for part time work

pay is standard for retail. management were decent enough. customers were ok though sometimes demanding. lots of training on products. shop was often quiet, targets got harder to meet as cost of living crisis got worse.

Fantastic place to start a sales job

Really good company with Values, product and training. All good and nice people to work with as always in every type of work it has good and bad side. In the overall there are more good parts of it.

Cult-like company

This company is part of L'Oreal. There is absolutely no work-life balance, they sell you this "empathy" work culture which is a lie to cover up that they don't pay their employees as they should and under that "empathy" speech they trick you into working long hours even on your days off, not being able to have any balance. There is a huge gap between how they treat HQ employees and store employees. No options to progress. I would not recommend to work in this company if you can find somewhere else to work

Cons

they don't value their employees

Lovely

Really interesting and very fun place to work at, learned a lot from there and the environment was lovely. Although sometimes as every other work place gets a little bit challenging you just have to think out of the box and have you best outcome. All for the customer happiness

Lots of personal interaction with Customers.

As well as organising stock, I was mainly focused on connecting customers with the brand and ensuring they have a fantastic experience. Only two people on shift at a time and were generally only 9am-6pm.

Kiehl's sales associate London

Robotic with too much pressure to achieve targets by selling several items "per transaction", God forbid if a customer just comes to buy one face wash!!! Leave whatever is genuine about yourself: just say the lines they want and sell, sell, SELL!!!

Beautiful job

Meeting all local customers and Asian student customers who were in my place was nice expereince, great welfare for staff and beautiful store. Every information was provided and I just had to develop the proficiency.

Awful management

A typical day at work consisted of focusing mainly advising customers on skincare regemins which I thoroughly enjoyed. Great training on products Area manager was horrendous, rude and unprofessional. I was accused of never being on the shop floor and that I was not running the store well enough. These were lies as my store was performing fine according to head of the UK and was at 100%+ to target. But seen as I was thought to be under performing there was no development plan put in place to help me improve, it was clearly a way of humiliating me to push me out of the company which I did! Hardest part was being trained to push 10+ products on customers rather than realistically reading the customers and listening to their wants and needs. Favourite part was learning about the products and I met some great people working within my store.

Pros

Good training

Cons

No work life balance.

Good Benefits

Loreal as a company offer outstanding benefits however this job was not for me. Kiehl's as a company have very small teams in each store which is not always a positive.

Great Experience

Working as a sales associate for Holland and Barrett was great, I got to help customers and feel I was making a difference in their personal lives. I also gathered lots of knowledge around botanicals, human biology and health in general. Typically I'd start by checking stock, filling up and controlling the shops displays. whilst doing that I'd multitask and approach customers offering till service as well as help with their enquiries.

Kiehl's provides very high quality, effective skincare

They ensure their staff are trained not only to sell the products but also to give real help and advice to their customers. This is an ideal job not only for people who enjoy customer service centred jobs but who genuinely like to help people.
