I have worked on 4 teams in the 12 years of working at KMBC. Generally the people are very down to earth and friendly. In 2009 when I started, the training opportunities were fantastic but through cuts etc it isn’t what it used to be. Things have changed a lot in the way we work now. My role has been predominantly in social care and I work with people that have been there 30+ years so they have seen a lot of changes. There is security working in the council and opportunities to move around other teams and widen your experience.
Security. Training. Salary. Varied experience.
The red tape. Political issues.
Iv worked for Knowsley council for over 20 years Iv enjoy my time at Knowsley council Iv gained experience in all aspects of care I have enjoyed working here but find the sleep overs hard as I don’t sleep well in a strange house they have very good pay scale and it is a good company but I just feel I need a change and would like not to do sleepovers

Getting up at 5am to get into work for 6, then starting work after knowing which tesm i will be working with for that day, different area can be difficult but some are easy enough to where you will be finished at 2 and going home to enjoy the rest or the day but id rather put the hard work in knowing i was able to go home early it was an easy enough job until it rained and then getting wet pushing heavy bins around but it was easy enough to keep you head down and crack on.
I went on work experience An visited restaurants and food eating places to check whether their health and hygiene standards were up to scale and if not we would give them a warning and drop down their food hygiene score
go to different food places and experience more
