Productive and rewarding...even with some added stress

I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer at K+N after just finishing College 3 months prior. As a 20 year old who's previous jobs include retail, working for such a well respected company and feeling valued as a member of the team is a much needed change of pace. The job has it's moments of stress (as is the case with any job), but I knew it would going into it, due to the nature of the job, and I know I can go to anyone in my team for support. I love my colleagues and the feeling of coming into work everyday / feeling like a valued member of the team, which I know is rare for someone my age. I've had the opportunity to meet people and attend events and all these things I wouldn't have the opportunity to do otherwise.

Good for students

It was long working days , it’s good if your a student and need. Quick holiday job . It was difficult to keep up with their constant demands though , some days there was early starts and late finishes so you’d struggle to meet demands

Productive and good workplace

I am currently on the Integrated Logistics graduate scheme. It is one of the best graduate schemes out there in terms of career development and opportunities. They offer the choice of international placements and I was able to live in Poland for 3 months as part of my scheme. Really good work culture and environment and everyone is so welcoming and friendly

Improving

The Company as a whole appears good but locally there has been a culture of take take take with no give. It's very sad as it has the potential to be a lovely workplace. Too much emphasis on rules and policies and not enough interest in the workforces mental health and happiness.

Pros

Work colleagues

Cons

Very autocratic leadership

Not a place I would work for again

The working day was long most days 12 hours delivering up and down the country Delivery items were not safe in the van Just thrown in , I was sacked for having a seizure, as a result I couldn’t drive they sacked me on the grounds of not completing my probation period to a satisfactory level even tho I was never late did all my drops and never had any complaints by customers wouldn’t ever work for this company again if you want a life other than working it’s a rolling contract working more weekends than you have off stay well clear

Pros

No

Cons

Don’t Join

Please please don’t go to K+N unless you’re prepared to be treated like dirt, they have got a special club if you have a ST Postcode you will be able to do exactly what you like book what ever hour’s you want and basically come and go as you please. If you are from Telford just don’t bother and even worse if you’re a new pass driver you will be ridiculed ( but only behind your back) they haven’t got the guts to do it face to face. And the supervisors are a complete waste of time too busy with their own business than k+n work. So please stay away

Pros

None

Cons

Too many

Avoid them!

Toxic workplace. Lack of communication. Lack of good training. Micromanagement. Poor leadership. Unorganised. Lack of decent work procedures. Team restructure almost every 1-2 years. They don’t give you good training and on top of that they demand from you to meet their expectations. It’s not uncommon to put the blame on employees because the management team cannot organise the work properly.

Pros

High salary, WFH 2 days, holiday purchase scheme up to 5 days

Cons

Bad management, lack of training

Great bunch of lads

Good place to work, management and supervisors were all helpful. The guys in the warehouse some of the beat groups of guys I've worked with. Some good benefits. Only downside is there wasn't much OT.

Pros

Good management, benefits, colleagues

Cons

Not much overtime

Fun places

It was a fun place with amazing peers who made the shift breeze past and the shift generally felt shorter when you was around them and the management was amazing and treated everyone equally no matter if they were a team leader or not.

Sometimes challenging but rewarding all the same.

Busy environment which is sometime challenging. Would get the support required when asked. Inclusive workplace and embraces different cultures. Management are supportive and encourage development. Working to a budget and maintaining standards and compliance is always a challenge. Most enjoyable part of the job was the people.

Pros

Nice people

Cons

Unionised enviorment
