Loved the team I worked with

Shame they closed the smaller bouquets in London.Loyal customers that just love the brand and become friends.Worked with a small team, Store manager was fantastic.Just trusted us to do the job which made it enjoyable and we achieved targets and KPI'S.The store manager can made or brake a team so depends who you get.Perks were great had so much face/body cream's Training was good however in group's of people you will always have the gossips/back stabbing etc. Rise above it and enjoy working with your team.

Pros

Brilliant team, Perks, Customers

Cons

High Targets and be deflating

good

L'Oréal is a global cosmetics company that offers a wide range of beauty products. My experience with the company has been relatively standard. Would recommend to some, not to others.

Has potential

Not the greatest pay/commission in the beauty industry. However they do have huge budgets for trainings. Great perks like free products, etc. Management can be toxic

Retail wages are low for such a big company

Management is a bit blazé, high targets so they don’t have to give you a bonus. The wages are very low, even when bonus is paid. Really good employee discounts.

Pros

Employee discount

Cons

Low wages only suitable for teenagers who live at home

Great progression

Started as a beauty consultant and progressed into Store Manager in 3 years. Really enjoyed working for L’Oreal and was offered some great opportunities.

Loreal

If your are hardworking, conscientious and have good work ethic its a great company to work for . I worked for Loreal 17 and a half years and made many friends and had a good social interaction. There are benefits with a pensions scheme and there was profit share when I worked for them i'm sure that may still be in place now, there is also plenty of incentive and opportunity for people wanting to get on with ambition.

Pros

working hard

Cons

many benefits and incentives

Productive and creative workplace.

My passions for marketing and cosmetics joined to form an enjoyable yet challenging time working with the visual merchandising team at L'Oréal Paris UK.

Amazing opportunities

I had the best experience throughout my time in Marketing team, however you are expected to 'live and breathe the job'. That said the opportunities and culture is really good, so this is easy to do!

Collaborative, Developing and Fun

Great place to enhance your skills through extensive training on offer. Allows one the ability to utilise the skills they may already have in order to bring input into the business.

Fairly ok

I had a great manager, but bare in mind its long hours, minimal training. The obligation of having daily targets makes it harder. Some workplaces force you to wear heels and make up.

job security

they hate to fire people and embrace mistakes so be prepared to work alongside some questionable characters but also your own mistakes can be learned from within this environment.

Pros

brand discounts/gratis, no uniform, flexible working hours

Cons

no development, give everything get nothing

Flexible workplace

Focus on flexible working. Good benefits. Nice people. Long hours often expected across all functions. Hammersmith office slightly outdated...........

A nightmare

The service is nothing but a salty step by step script you're meant to follow not to loose points with the dreaded Mystery Shopper, it must start with "Welcome to Kiehl's" and nothing but "Welcome to Kiehl's"! After more scripted lines you'll must be sitting down with customers and performing a gimmicky "consultation" using paper pads, whatever those are, that culminates into the recommendation of the "iconic" items you're meant to sell to everyone regardless of their needs and the questions you just asked them. A lot of theatre and acting involved, quite simple actually, but not so easy as it gets repetitive and feels fake. Now add a lot of pressure for hitting targets and get customers details, rinse and repeat. Managers will promote their friends who hire their friends and you'll may find yourself surrounded by colleagues who are related and or flat mates. It pays better than Bobby Brown, but I wouldn't go back.

Pros

If you're friends with someone there

Cons

It's dreadful

Safe job, salary not great, impersonal

Safe job, big company. Open minded company that gives you ownership. Not great salary or benefits and impersonal relationships. Fair and professional hiring process.

very inspirational and challenging place to work

Great place to start your career. Very enjoyable benefits as an employee. Quite a competitive internal culture. A typical day at work varies and it is very fast paced. Alot of the time you can find yourself working beyond the hours you should be. Amazing opportunities and schemes to help someone grow within the company.

Pros

canteen, staff benefits

Cons

long hours, very corporate
