Not the greatest pay/commission in the beauty industry. However they do have huge budgets for trainings. Great perks like free products, etc. Management can be toxic

Loved my time with Loreal

I really loved my time with Loreal and only left due to losing hours as a result of a restructure making my salary too low.Management were the best, I’ve never loved a job more than what I did working for Loreal.I’m hoping one day I can come back in a suitable role

Fun job, low paid

The management and training were incredible, the employee discount and allocation schemes were also amazing. The base pay was low however targets were fairly reasonable and the commission scheme was rewarding if you hit the targets.

Pros

Employee discount, allocation, amazing sense of community, management

Cons

Salary

Great Company, Great Benefits

Youre never made to feel like just a number working at L'Oreal. They are very personal and your individual skills are appreciated and put to the test.

Pros

Incentives

Professional and encouraging

IV worked with loreal altogether for over ten years. They are a dynamic company with many sectors and opportunities if you can travel. As a manager I do struggle with my minimum wage. I have a child and a mortgage and I do find I work hard and see little to play with on payday. This is a job for you if you love interacting with people, enjoy a sales environment and are driven.

Pros

Commission, great discounts, good support

Cons

Wages, a lot of initiative based work, I feel they ask a lot for what they pay.

I enjoyed for Lancome, which is part of the Loreal group

I had an excellent working relationship with my Area /Regional managers, I found them very supportive. I always felt that if I required any further information/support they are always there for me , helping me in a positive way.

A challenging environment but the company look after you

Given sales targets to achieve which were realistic and management take in consideration the decline in retail. My first area manager was awful, she'd never visit or reply to messages or calls, however the management I had after were all brilliant. L'Oréal take into consideration mental health and the well-being of their staff. Generous allocation twice a year and use of the L'Oreal staff shop.

Work job ever

Ysl was one of the worst jobs I have ever done, being made a manager was a dream but it turned out to be a nightmare. I had no respect given to me and got bullied by a staff member and the store I worked in.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

List too long

Do not work here you are not appreciated for any work you do and have no support or help. Expecting you to be working even when you are off and get blamed for sales when off on holiday

Pros

Global Leader

You get a fantastic variety of experience in L'Oreal. You can work with lots of different brands which operate in different environments e.g. luxury Department Stores, supermarkets, hair salons. All the brands are really interesting and have their own identity. Customers have a real emotional connection with them which marketing drives. You also gets lots of responsibility and the chance to have a real impact. It's a young company and it feels like anyone can make a contribution to the business, it doesn't just depend on age or superiority. The most important thing though is the people. It's great to work around so many inspiring individuals with drive and ambition.

Fun job with its downsides - Urban Decay

Urban Decay Sales. The pay is below average for the industry once you reach management level and salaries for the same position can vary hugely. There is a lot of disorganisation and issues go without resolution regularly if it is easier. The job overall is fun to do on an entry level however once you progress there is quite a lot of pressure for the pay you get and it is very common to have to still fulfil tasks while out of work, be it whether it's your day off or holidays booked. The staff discount is a very healthy 60% off via an online shop and twice a year you receive an allocation worth £350 of complimentary products of your choosing. A couple of times a year free products are sent out to you. You have the opportunity to be creative and express yourself. HR is small and very slow. Bank holidays paid triple for full time staff.

Pros

Free products - fun - creative

Cons

Low pay - weekend work most of the year - no time off Nov and Dec
