Has potential
Account Manager (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 31 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNot the greatest pay/commission in the beauty industry. However they do have huge budgets for trainings. Great perks like free products, etc. Management can be toxic

Lovely company with few bad apples
Picker / Packer (Former Employee) - Bury - 17 June 2023
Overall the company is great. Most of the management are reasonable and kind. Typically lack of hours but pay was also not bad. Nice canteen for food and cute celebrations for any holidays. However, in the company there are certain people who are rude and plain disrespectful (with no reason) which definitely ruins the family feel of it.
Pros
Very clean, nice breaks and shift options
Cons
rude people

It’s nice place to work. Very clean and perfectly organised for people. Comfy sofa’s, you can feel like at home reading a book. I really like this place. Nice management. People first, always.

Retail wages are low for such a big company
Assistant Retail Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 1 March 2023
Management is a bit blazé, high targets so they don’t have to give you a bonus. The wages are very low, even when bonus is paid. Really good employee discounts.
Pros
Employee discount
Cons
Low wages only suitable for teenagers who live at home

Fantastic company but reshuffle needed
Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) - England - 1 May 2022
An amazing company however management needs a reshuffle within shop floors. Benefits within the company are great and I would recommend the company to anyone within the industry but be cautious as the turn over is high.

Amazing family feel and support
Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) - Blackburn, Lancashire - 12 April 2022
Management is great. The brand really makes you feel like you are a part of the family and have a great community and culture. There is also good support and training. You learn a lot about makeup and the products they sell. I worked on a rota basis but i was able to have a lot of input and took childcare into consideration. The best makeup brand to work for. You also get lot's of freebies and discounts! The company really looked after staff during covid. A typical day is trying to bring customers in and tracking sales through the day, keeping the store cleaning and tallying up sales at the end. The sales targets can be daunting at first. It is more about sales than beauty. You do not need to be a beauty expert but just need to learn how to use the products. Helps to have a full face of the brands products on too.

It was a fun place to work for, but management was shocking
Makeup Artist (Former Employee) - Canterbury, Kent - 13 February 2022
Everyone is in each other’s pockets, if you’re not friends with the high up managers you have no chance on progressing. One of the worst jobs I have ever had, horrible people.
Pros
Free lunch when in head office
Cons
Everything

Shifts and retail
Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 9 February 2022
Good discount and benefits, lots of free products. However the training isn’t great, and management aren’t very supportive. The hours can be long as it is a retail environment.
Pros
Allocation
Cons
High targets

Overall the working personnel at L’Oréal.
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Bury - 11 January 2022
Overall the working personnel at L’Oréal were great except for one or two workers that were let’s say, not team players. The management, I have never met such a facist group of a management team and they’re getting away with it. Coming from a manager role myself of over 100 personnel, I feel for the workers but, I’m glad it was only a temporary role for myself.
Pros
Early starts (06:00hrs), average wage
Cons
Facist regime, unpredictable hours, suck-ups were favouritised over hard workers on overtime.

Boring , repetitive and terrible management
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Brentford, Greater London - 5 January 2022
My summary says it all, terrible management, repetitive, long tiring days. No such this as a work life balance and the job was not outlined properly in its description. Overall stressful and for less than £10 not worth it

L'Oréal
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Manchester - 6 November 2021
Only Favourite by Management people getting more training. You should be as licker to get it.You are driving very old LLOP and they expecting from you pick rate more than 95% You are heavy lifting boxes with shampoons and others. Your back killing u. Management without experience and strong background thinking about their self that they are the best. No one appreciate ur work, even if u r working 60 hrs a week and have over 100% pick rate No chance for contract.People working from agency even 10 yes without conrtact!!! U can get it ,if they like u.Shock!
Pros
Staff shop discounts
Cons
No chance for contract even if working 6 yrs!

Loved my time with Loreal
Account Manager (Former Employee) - All over - 15 October 2021
I really loved my time with Loreal and only left due to losing hours as a result of a restructure making my salary too low.Management were the best, I’ve never loved a job more than what I did working for Loreal. I’m hoping one day I can come back in a suitable role

Fun job, low paid
Account Manager (Current Employee) - Portsmouth - 26 December 2020
The management and training were incredible, the employee discount and allocation schemes were also amazing. The base pay was low however targets were fairly reasonable and the commission scheme was rewarding if you hit the targets.
Pros
Employee discount, allocation, amazing sense of community, management
Cons
Salary

Not the best
Beauty Advisor (Current Employee) - Aberdeen - 5 October 2020
Absolutely disappointed with everything apart from the free products. Terrible management, no balance between work and personal life, long shifts, terrible pay. Find another job! The managers don’t care about you even if you do your best.
Pros
Free products
Cons
Everything else

Vindictive Management who were inexperienced
NYX Makeup artist (Former Employee) - NYX Cosmetics - 1 January 2020
The bullying that took place at NYX Cosmetics was unbelievable.
I have a lot of experience in Makeup retail, and found much of the area management level was secretly trying to cover up their mistakes by blaming it on staff members below them.
They corner you by not providing you with ANY stock, any HYGEINE or any kind of equipment you need to do your job, then complain about sales and customer reports.
The area manager the person to fix all of these issues for you. But because they are ignoring these issues and management above them figured it out, they then began a game of trying to cover their lazy management skills by deleting emails and HR meetings but were never truly held responsible for what they had done.
They also did not correctly report sickness reports. I later found out my 'break down from stress' which was keenly communicated and backed up with psychological assessments from working was reported as the Flu.
This was not just with me.
This happened with multiple managers across the company.
This place is a disgrace, and the entire company needs a shake up.
avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Awful, arrogant management
Picker (Former Employee) - Trafford, Greater Manchester - 21 December 2019
Management talk down to you like you're stupid. Polish cliques and constant foreign speak to make English feel unwelcome. No permanent contracts (some working up to 10 years on temp contracts then let go suddenly).

A challenging environment but the company look after you
Account Manager (Current Employee) - West Midlands - 11 December 2019
Given sales targets to achieve which were realistic and management take in consideration the decline in retail. My first area manager was awful, she'd never visit or reply to messages or calls, however the management I had after were all brilliant. L'Oréal take into consideration mental health and the well-being of their staff. Generous allocation twice a year and use of the
L'Oreal staff shop.
