Very sales based

Ok place to work more sales based than makeup artistry. Not a lot of flexibility with hours around Christmas but I suppose that’s retail for you. Good perks to the job

Enjoyed the job at first but very little progression

Great if you’re starting out with a makeup counter job and enjoy working in retail but after a few years it gets very repetitive. No holidays over Christmas, long retail hours and the commission structure was changed so we ended up earning less. Allocation and staff discount was good.

Excelente

Trato en general bueno por el equipo y jefes, remuneración baja, pero buena experiencia formativa. Trato bueno por la compañía en caso de baja, COVID, contrato estable.

Fun place to work

A great company to work for who value people, with profit share and good bonus scheme. Plenty of focus on personal development via HR teams.

Pros

Excellent benefits

Cons

Sometimes you feel that you're not working as one team

Retail wages are low for such a big company

Management is a bit blazé, high targets so they don’t have to give you a bonus. The wages are very low, even when bonus is paid. Really good employee discounts.

Pros

Employee discount

Cons

Low wages only suitable for teenagers who live at home

Don’t expect a full working week

What they don’t tell you get regular cancellations, pick rates must be achieved favour Eastern European workers.the job light and easy get trained up on all aspects within the company

Pros

Goody bags light easy work

Cons

Not enough hours got to work to pick rates

Worth it

Really nice place to work even inside Boots. The company value you with all benefits provided but payment is not good. There’s no progression as well.

Fantastic company but reshuffle needed

An amazing company however management needs a reshuffle within shop floors. Benefits within the company are great and I would recommend the company to anyone within the industry but be cautious as the turn over is high.

Shifts and retail

Good discount and benefits, lots of free products. However the training isn’t great, and management aren’t very supportive. The hours can be long as it is a retail environment.

Pros

Allocation

Cons

High targets

Loved my time with Loreal

I really loved my time with Loreal and only left due to losing hours as a result of a restructure making my salary too low.Management were the best, I’ve never loved a job more than what I did working for Loreal.I’m hoping one day I can come back in a suitable role

Fun job, low paid

The management and training were incredible, the employee discount and allocation schemes were also amazing. The base pay was low however targets were fairly reasonable and the commission scheme was rewarding if you hit the targets.

Pros

Employee discount, allocation, amazing sense of community, management

Cons

Salary

Professional and encouraging

IV worked with loreal altogether for over ten years. They are a dynamic company with many sectors and opportunities if you can travel. As a manager I do struggle with my minimum wage. I have a child and a mortgage and I do find I work hard and see little to play with on payday. This is a job for you if you love interacting with people, enjoy a sales environment and are driven.

Pros

Commission, great discounts, good support

Cons

Wages, a lot of initiative based work, I feel they ask a lot for what they pay.

Poor salary

Working for the brand was great lovey people and training was also professional and always up to date However what you get paid is not enough especially for a counter manager you get paid pennies. Considering the fact you have to give your whole life away to retails Christmas holidays bank holidays weekends etc it’s not worth the hassle !

Loreal

If your are hardworking, conscientious and have good work ethic its a great company to work for . I worked for Loreal 17 and a half years and made many friends and had a good social interaction. There are benefits with a pensions scheme and there was profit share when I worked for them i'm sure that may still be in place now, there is also plenty of incentive and opportunity for people wanting to get on with ambition.

Pros

working hard

Cons

many benefits and incentives

Amazing opportunities

I had the best experience throughout my time in Marketing team, however you are expected to 'live and breathe the job'. That said the opportunities and culture is really good, so this is easy to do!
