Poor management makes it hard to enjoy the role
Research Technician (Former Employee) - Alconbury, Cambridgeshire - 23 November 2023
This company is fine for fresh grads who want a short role to gain some experience and skills. Progression is non existent so leave by a year if you can. Management are terrible with priorities so you will find yourself rushing for a tight deadline they’ve known about for months.

Chaotic and rushed
Regulatory Specialist (Former Employee) - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire - 4 October 2023
In my time here, training was rushed and chaotic. Team understaffed and high turnover, therefore you get pulled into projects that are not appropriate for your skillset. Stressful.

Poor management
Feasibility (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 22 September 2023
The team has broken up into different divisions now, but management within this wider team were/are a load of parading peacocks. A bunch of people who think they know it all, but are definitely not movers and shakers of the industry. Some very condescending and insincere people who did not truly listen to their teams. Zero care when staff consistently worked 50-60+ hour weeks either.

Couldn’t wait to get out
Odd job! (Former Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 25 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Leaving, not interested in people just profits! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Far too much work expected from each individual and very little support What is the work environment and culture like at the company? All management and no workers What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful, very little support

An awful work experience never to be repeated
Lab Technician, Ecotoxicology Dept (Former Employee) - Derby - 29 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Not really much to say with regards as to the best part of working for them, perhaps going home at 4 I guess What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No appreciation for hard work, working weekends, Xmas and bank holidays What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Some great people but also some not so great, poor management and no support if you have issues, people who work hard get no rewards or recognition. If on the other hand your lazy you get everything What is a typical day like for you at the company? Think of walking through the gates of what’s opposite to heaven and that’ll be something very close to it

Great employer
Document Specialist (Current Employee) - Remote - 20 July 2023
Great work life balance, great team. A very structured and organised company, with good benefits and flexible working. Management is good too and always on your side

Lots of expectations, very little support from High ups
Freezer Coordinator (Former Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 21 June 2023
Sample Management department is a decent place to start a career with no experience ( wouldn'trecommend for buddong scientists, its not stimulating), opportunities arise to progress, there's a bit of nepotism around so you need to show willing to get anywhere. This department was always an afterthought despite being a key area for the whole site so not much investment was put in to resources, human and physical.Pay was not great . Typical example of an American Corporation, you're just a number. High staff turnover site wide.

Hard Work but good management
Animal Technician (Current Employee) - Eye, Suffolk - 4 June 2023
I've not been working here long but management are very kind and understanding. Work can be long and physical though, so you should be aware of this going forward. Probably not a long term job but possible because of people.

CMC Associate Assay Development Scientist (Former Employee) - Leeds United Kingdom - 18 May 2023
Everyone was very kind and friendly and there was a lot of help from my managers as well. I worked there as an intern in part of my masters degree. Happy overall

Jobs at Labcorp
Interesting at best
Animal Technologist (Former Employee) - Alconbury - 15 May 2023
Being able to work with the animals is easily the best part of the job. As animal technicians it is our job to ensure that they are able to live the best life possible and that they are protected from any form of suffering - so it’s a shame that LabCorp hires anyone who applies with no regard of whether they are actually interested in the industry or animals. The salary and hours here are great, but it isn’t worth the mental exhaustion and stress you have to endure when you’re constantly having to fix mistakes others have made. This is a heavily regulated industry and it’s almost like no one actually has any idea what they are tasked to do. Senior staff and those in charge of day to day tasks often make up rules or things to do and expect people to follow despite the fact that it makes no logical sense. Standards are often dropped for people who ‘fit in’, whereas those who don’t receive bullying or harsh punishments. All new people are told they will be able to progress quickly. Don’t be fooled by this - you won’t receive any training for 6+ months depending on whether management likes you or not. Your face either fits here or it doesn’t - in which case, don’t expect to stay here long.
Pros
Experience with animals
Cons
High stress, poor work environment

Awful place
Sample Coordinator (Former Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 3 May 2023
Little to no progression available. Management is all about looking good to the higher ups, not about supporting their team at all. Pay is atrocious, they made the increase in minimum wage sound like people were getting a pay rise and they were being generous

Don’t work here
Animal Welfare Assistant (Former Employee) - Huntingdon - 3 April 2023
Bad: Don’t work here, hours was long, worked every other weekend without a choice, staff was bullies and management just moved you around so it wasn’t there problem. Very tiring job and emotional draining and get no support from anyone. Job was alright but have very high expectations to do well even when you just started. No support if you was struggling with any kind of stress. Good: Cute animals and I guess good money but you work 12 days out of 14 twice a month.
Pros
Cute animals
Cons
Management and hours was so bad

Good starting place, work life balance in certain departments could be better
Reporting Associate (Current Employee) - Harrogate - 6 February 2023
It's a good place to start out, with full training and support but the work life balance can be shocking, overtime, though not mandatory is expected and not enough staff in most departments to cover the workload with no outlook on extra staff. The company keeps growing but won't hire enough.
Pros
Benefits, half decent salary, progression
Cons
Stress, understaffed, no work life balance

Great place
Animal Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 31 January 2023
I have only been working here for a month so far, but it's going very well. You start at the bottom and get trained up the ladder. The work is quite demanding and really requires you to have initiative and organisation. The security is excellent and everything is done by the book (as it should be for scientific studies). Pay for this role has recently increased making this a great post graduate job.

Never Work for this company
Laboratory Supervisor (Current Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 10 January 2023
LabCorp is an exploratory company that will pay you the lowest wage for the job in the area but expect you to give 200%. They expect you to work the position above you (unrewarded) for 2 years before even considering you for promotion this is made worse by constant promotion freezes. i've been in the company 8 years and of that 5 of the years had promotion freezes.
Pros
Local
Cons
Culture, Pay, Benifits, Pension, recognitioon

Poor and undermining
QA (Former Employee) - Huntingdon - 25 December 2022
Terrible environment and workplace culture. Unskilled supervisors, rude, mean, falsifying your work in order just survive in their position. Disgusting.

Poor management but great team
Clinical Trials Administrator (Former Employee) - Maidenhead, Berkshire - 1 December 2022
Work was very tedious and repetitive, did not learn much on the job or receive a good standard of training. Managers are not supportive and do not encourage your development. However the team itself was good and everyone was friendly

Terrible pay for work required
Laboratory Assistant (Former Employee) - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - 14 November 2022
Management in my department was good who were always there if you needed to talk but the job itself was stressful and repetitive. People higher up kept adding things to do onto of an increased workload. Very low pay for effort and location for living there. Training was terrible on busy days and often left to do things unsupervised due to lack of staff. I only stayed as long as I did for the team I was with as the people are lovely.
Pros
People
Cons
Overtime. Long days. Stressful. Repetitve. Lack of rewards for hardwork. Low pay.

Toxic environment
Assistant (Former Employee) - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire - 15 October 2022
Toxic environment, bullying and the worst management ever, no training, favouritism, no equipment. No progression at all. If you been in that company more than 20 years a new starter has no chance and if you are picked on no help.

It’s a good place to get experience before you get your big boy job.
Laboratory Technician (Former Employee) - Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire - 4 August 2022
I was lucky enough to end up in a very friendly lab. Really nice people. Very fun environment. But there are awful labs. So it could be like these comments. I got my experience, moved on to a better job now. Overall was worth it. But don’t stay too long
Pros
People, restaurant on-site, green area
Cons
Pay
