Great company, bad management
Skincare Specialist (Current Employee) - Liverpool, Merseyside - 2 August 2023
The company and the products are lovely but the management I've experienced here is horrendous and I have no idea how it's not been caught. I feel like no one wants to be here and people don't care about the customer experience.

Loved the brand not the pay
Counter manager (Former Employee) - Harrogate - 21 September 2022
Pay was absolutely disgraceful I got less as a manager working here than I did as a normal specialist at clarins. I loved the brand but you was left a lot to do yourself

Stressful but also enjoyable
Business Manager (Former Employee) - Coventry - 22 March 2022
Working for Lancome was great but it was the management and salary that pushed me to leave. It's a shame as I loved working for them initially but when I was given a new area manager, i started to hate my job because she was so horrible to me. The salary was so low at 14,500 a year with only 1% commission in a quiet store. I loved my customers and the job itself but the company asked for too much when the salary was so low. I do miss it and the benefits were great (discount on products and free products) but long term it just wasn't feasible.
Pros
Free product's, great customer relationships
Cons
Being treated awful by area managers and made to feel like you're nothing.

Reasonable place to work
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 9 January 2022
Friendly staff, engaging and easy to interact with customers. A nice environment can be stressful when needed but mostly when sales need to be reached.

Lancôme is not just a brand but is more like a family business.
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Leicester - 26 September 2020
One of the best company that i have ever worked for. L'ORÉAL (Lancôme) is a great company to work for, we are not just employees in there but we are more like family. I would not have left if it wasn't for cov19 that I was made redundant. But this is not a goodbye from me. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN! 😊

Temporary Job
Counter Manager (Former Employee) - Debenhams Haverfordwest - 10 October 2019
I did some agency work for Lancôme within a Debenhams store in Christmas 2018 for about 4 days.
I covered the makeup counter within Debenhams when cover was needed. At the time I was a Debenhams employee, and was offered the opportunity to work for Lancôme for a few days. I really enjoyed being unsupervised and choosing when I could go on lunch etc. I had sales targets to hit each day and was given instructions from the counter manager each morning informing me of how many sales I had to make that day. It was easy to make the sales each day as Lancôme has such a high reputation, sometimes I didn't even have to come up with a sales pitch to the customers to make the sale. I enjoyed my short time here and would have loved to work for this company full time. The pay was a lot higher per hour than my hourly rate at Debenhams itself so it really was an excellent opportunity to me and I am grateful I got to experience this.
Pros
Really enjoyable- products are wonderful and easy to sell
Cons
Wish I could have had an opportunity to work here full time.

great progression
Counter Manager (Former Employee) - Basildon, Essex - 25 February 2019
If you are willing to work hard you can go very far with Lancome and comission is amazing if you hit targets. Sometimes it can get lonely because a lot of the time you're left to do your own thing but in a way it's a good thing too.

Fun and rewarding job but with challenges
Business Manager (Former Employee) - Canterbury, Kent - 16 March 2017
My day to day would vary greatly depending on customer footfall and whether not any visual merchandising/paperwork needed to be done.
Management worked on an area basis so this made problems solving difficult.
Best part of the job was the staff shop and discount
