Social Care Worker (Current Employee) - England - 16 April 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedProfessional, person centred, for people using the service and employees, approachable and understanding, only let down for myself as an employe is the new Oracle Fusion when it is eventually up and running after a lengthy progress I hope everyone who uses it can use it for the purpose it is installed for because at the moment it is an ongoing stress to new employees ,employees just can't afford to wait to be able to use the system ,eventually good staff with great potentiL will quit the job ,due to not being paid or be able to do online madatory training ,this is a shame because working for Lancashire County Council is and should be a real privilege 👍
Pros
To work with and support amazing people
Cons
ORACLe FUSion system is a big let down

Fantastic place to work
Child with Disabilitys Social Worker (Current Employee) - Burnley, Lancashire - 18 January 2022
I have been working in my team for 2 years now. I love working with children and families with disabilities. I find it challenging but rewarding at the same time. I'm in a really supportive team. I have a very good work life balance. I have a case load of been 22 and 19. This is manageable caseloads. There is lots to lure. Complex Child in Need, child protection, children in are care and mental capacity.
Pros
Working from home good work life balance.
Cons
All social worker in all local attractions need a pay rise.

Fast paced environment
Social worker (Former Employee) - Lancaster - 28 January 2020
During my time at LCC I found my workmates were helpful and supportive of each other, however the management team was often observed to be lacking. Often people reported the management tactics to be of a bullying nature. However, this was not true of all managers, some were very helpful and supportive.

Social Worker (Former Employee) - Preston, Lancashire - 20 October 2019
I enjoyed working at Lancashire County Council as this gave me the opportunity to develop my practice, working with a cross-section of people with different needs, ranging from generic adults, adults with learning disabilities, mental health, hospital discharge and adults with physical needs

Very good for advancement
Agency Social Worker (Former Employee) - Country Hall - 20 September 2019
I very much enjoyed my time with Lancashire, I felt supported although not as much as full time employees due to me being an agency worker. I was respected by my team and also the management around me. I had a wonderful time whilst working for them. The only negative i would raise to anyone is the parking situation which can be awful at times.

Lovely Team
Agency Social Worker (Former Employee) - Fleetwood, UK - 18 December 2018
The team I worked in was lovely, however there was no senior management support and no backing when this is required. The job again was busy and hard going and as with any Social Work post it has its pro's and cons.
Pros
Great Team
Cons
Unwritten rules on extra working hours being a given

I have learned very good communication and negotiation skills.
Working with a diverse community.
Working in partnership with other agencies in a multi agency capacity.
Most enjoyable part was being able to offer support and help and advice to children and families in need and to affect change for the better for these families.

Great place, warm and friendly poeple.
Social worker (Former Employee) - Lancashire - 10 June 2016
I completed my final year placement at Lancashire County Council and I have had the good fortune to work across 4 different teams within the council. This has given mew the opportunity to work under four different managers, all of which have been a pleasure. I feel privileged to have worked for such a wonderful organisation and I have genuinely made life long friends here. If I was not in Australia I would go straight back to Lancashire County Council,
