Busy. Hectic and some people actually work hard but there is very little recognition for the hard work that the frontline staff do. No career prospects for some staff and there is an 'us and them' mentality running throughout the company The most enjoyable part is meeting the people and transforming lives
Pros
respect for a uniformed service
Cons
no thanks

Worked for Lancs Fire and Rescue Princes Trust briefly and it was the worst professional role I’ve ever had. The teenagers on team were great but the managers were pushy and so focussed on financial outcomes they encouraged risky practices (low staffing levels, poor or no resources, fictional safeguarding protocols) made results, attendance and outcomes up completely - and pushed these risks into the underpaid frontline staff. Used and abused first year social work placement students with no experience, dropped clients into unsafe and exploitative work placements - there’s a quick turnaround for very vulnerable youngsters, with no real care or content at all. It’s a brand, nice presentations and not much else to it. Everyone who was trapped working there was miserable. The worst
Pros
Clients
Cons
Rubbish money, poor management

Good quality placement, great staff. Lots of on the job training offered by knowledgeable staff across the whole service. Would recommend as a place to work.
