Promotion entirely depends upon the job role, department and area that you work. Our roles are also banded to national guidelines so this is worth remembering.

There are also pathways in place for our employees to progress and train. We are a 'Teaching' hospital, which means we have a commitment as a training provider to our staff. This gives staff the opportunity to develop and grow their career if they wish.

We know this isn't suited to everyone, and unfortunately there can be high demand making it very competitive for courses/training in certain areas, however we have a robust appraisal, and talent management system in place to help employees achieve their goals, and discuss their ambitions with their managers. We always encourage employees to speak to managers, shadow staff and create a career plan should progression be something that they want.
