This is perhaps one of the worst places you can ever work. The management are more interested in catching you out than saying bravo to the 100 other things. They will do all they can to put off things. They say they issue you with correct gear. I have been waiting for wellinton boots for over a year. The only benefit is 4 on 4 off. Thats it. Money god awful. Only satisfaction comes from helping customers in their time of need

At this company it’s all about who you know. Everyone is pretty much related to each other and they all look out for their own people. Progressing in this company is difficult if you’re a nobody and everyone is underpaid for the amount of work you’re doing.

Overworked and underpaid and not appreciated. You’re just a number.
The problem is the huge turn around of staff in the field due to covid 19 the call centre are working from home so a huge amount of delay on jobs coming to engineers in the field.When employing HGV drivers they are not told the truth about work and driving it is not just a driving Job Due to this turnover in staff is Huge No overtime as promised so you will never hit the 45K as advertisedvehicles are so poorly maintained

Absolute joke of a company, management are useless and unprofessional. There is absolutely ZERO chance of progression unless your friends with management. I highly do not recommend working for lanes. Only good thing are other field engineers. All they care about is making and saving money for themselves but as a field engineer your nothing but a number to them.I am actively looking for another job but unfortunately with COVID-19 its not easy to find a job.

Absolutely useless management dont have a clue what there doing often sent out with faulty equipment work colleagues bar a select couple are useless and dont know there head from there rear
Starting on a monday morning
They don't just offer excellent training it is mandatory. It can be a high stress environment to work in and some exchanges with management can get heated but never personal. In some roles you get perks like being able to take your vehicle home such as a CCTV operator although this is a privilege that is not part of your contract and can be withdrawn if abused. Hourly rate on the face of it doesn't always seem great, but it is competitive and they pay overtime from 40hrs unlike other drainage company's so on a P60 comparison often you are better off.They have an ever expanding client base and so working hours can change throughout the day. If you have an appointment just outside your working day better to let your manager know in advance to help with planning, because the downside of this company and indeed the drainage industry is that it is a reactive industry and customers mostly want your services when the drains have already blocked meaning you could be asked to work later even if you are not the on call engineer. If that fact puts you off then the drainage industry is not for you not just Lanes
Worked here on and off over the past five or so years . The management is shocking . Actually I’m not sure anyone actually manages this depot it’s a joke . Some of the lads are ok I suppose but you get your lads licking the ring on a daily basis . Watch out for the lads on the ground who are in the office telling tales . A few old winging Hgv drivers on there think they run the place . You will know who these two silly old ladies are . They act like old fish wives always moaning about the job . I still work here but it’s only a matter of time before either the lottery numbers come up or I leave due to the lack of organisation . Be careful who you trust on here you will know once you’ve been working for a year or two who the morons of the company are . Peace out
No training provided, thrown in at the deep end and the pile pressure on staff! long hours and treated like sh**!Managers could not run a brothel in Amsterdam if they tried! Experienced racism and homophobic colleagues being racist and prejudice to other colleagues and it was not dealt with!Not enough resources for working from home during covid and they force staff into the office as well as not following social distancing rules! They lied to local police and left staff members who are KEY WORKERS to come into work for a further month after lockdown!DO NOT APPLY HERE! I have been here 9 MONTHS and THEY ARE GETTING WORSE!!
Staff not fully trained, managers are confused 99.9% of the time
Working at lanes is only good if your face fits it's not what you know it's who you know if they don't like you they will find anything to get rid of you. Not too bad on pay but don't expect a pay rise when promised because they will keep saying you will be next and that time never comes other workers there are good to work with its just the management are so shocking wouldn't recommend.
Management all stick together, promise the world and give absolutely nothing, they use you then spit you out, no further training once they got you doing the basics then lie to get rid of you once they are done. No chance of progression unless your up the managements backsides or good friends, some like to point score against you or make stuff up to make them self look better or validate there own position
Child like Management
Management have zero management skills. Hold you back to keep your money on the minimum for as long as possible. Do not match your skills with the job. Any bonuses are kept by the management. Will not pay you for the hours you work. Advertise good wages but you have absolutely no chance of getting that money. They will say once you achieved all training you’ll get full pay but they make it impossible to achieve all modules of training and the management know this. Old damaged vehicles and equipment and team managers shouldn’t be in the positions they are. Could be a good job but managers are not interested in training staff or making a good working environment. Wouldn’t recommend working for this company.
Always got a reason why you can't get a pay rise want more jobs per day but won't give payrise avoid at all costs treat you like you are children management waste of space always finding faults no praise for a good job but quick to moan if they think you in wrong
I only left to persue my class 1. I really enjoyed the work and the staff I worked with. Nothing was too much for the management to help you out with any issues. The pay was excellent for the 4 on 4 off shifts I worked. I would go back if I ever needed to.
Disgusting humans present in Senior and middle management levels on the reactive side. They try to brainwash you into their circle and the second you rebel you become and outcast. HR and management work together by playing good cop bad cop and getting feedback from the wellbeing practitioner to share your secrets with one another so they know how to play you. STAY AWAY
