HGV Driver (Former Employee) - Eastleigh, Hampshire - 13 August 2023
Rude, bad attitude, trucks are hanging, equipment defective, managers are quick to blame everyone else, high staff turn over, rubbish money, night are good

Tell you what you want to hear
They don’t care about your personal life you ask for help they ignore and allow bullying in work place it’s full of children that are spoilt kids and management are no good. couldn’t organise a beer session in a brewery!!! They will pester you for over time whilst they at home with their families and yet won’t care if it affects your relationships! Careful who you talk to cause everyone loves to talk about everyone’s business instead of their own! Don’t care about mental health when they say they on it yet they ain’t even the mental health team leader don’t get back to you!

Easy job
Tanker Driver (Former Employee) - Kidlington, Oxfordshire - 31 May 2023
Job itself is easy, hours can be long sometimes. Pay is good with yearly review. The management is not good at all but the engineers are fun to work with.

That company have more red flags then red square in Moscow. managers have no idea how to solve problems, push away culture, overtime not paid. if need help they will not pick up the phone. managers have meeting all the time they are not available when you need them. toilets and offices are in containers. sewage company is not connected to sewage network! constantly recruiting big red flag! they will kick you without blink of an eye. drug tests before you enter the interview room!! literally they will ask you for saliva sample before interview!

the senior management are only interested in themselves, I was put in charge of a contract, and when this took off I was made redundant, I was also put on a work improvement plan, as I couldn't say the word "no" , as i was bringing too much work in and they couldnt cope.

Fun and productive.
Transport Co-ordinator (Former Employee) - Medway - 24 April 2023
Generaly a nice place to work. They are willing to give people a chance even if they have no experience, and train you up. Very welcoming, and everyone helps each other out. The salary was good. I did get made redundant though just after new years which was a shame.
Pros
Good wage. Nice atmospere.

Toxic, cliquey work environment
Overtime rate at 1.5x is great....if you can get overtime. There is a select few favourites who are always getting 30 odd hours a week, whilst the rest of the work force are left to squabble over the scraps. Management.....absolutely clueless, although they are very good at covering for their mates, oh and sending the occasional threatening email....or 10!!
Pros
Overtime rate
Cons
Favouritism, toxic environment, clueless management

Cons

working with a purpose for helping others
Customer Co-ordinator (Former Employee) - Slough - 14 February 2023
It was a good experience to help customers but the company is very low on staff and resources so the work we wanna do is out of our control cos it depends on others. Inconsiderate company and heartless management - we all feel replaceable in the environment.
Pros
in office cafe, pool table, free tea and coffee - clean office always getting cleaned
Cons
long hours, inconsiderate management.

Beckton depot.
Engineer (Current Employee) - Beckton, Greater London - 6 February 2023
I ave worked in lanes for about 2 years. The job is ok and quite easy to do. The lads I work with are all good and make it good to come to work. The only thing that is bad is the managers. They are always finding something to pick at and are very rude. All the managers do this from the field ones to the big boss who is regional manager. I would recommend the company but Dont go to Beckton. You will get shouted at and it’s like being in the army.
Pros
Good lads and easy job
Cons
Bad managers

Truly despicable company
Engineer (Former Employee) - Chertsey, Surrey - 12 January 2023
Lanes Plc is without a doubt the most despicable company i have had the opportunity to work for. The lack of training & disregard for health & safety is no joke, its only going to be so long before a serious injury will occur. They will only honour pay rises if you are in the them & us gang. Management are unapproachable what ever the issue you are treated like the stuff you are cleaning out of the sewers. Completely mismanaged struggle to sort out the basic jobs & equipment . The only good thing id say about lanes plc is your fellow engineers on the tools. IMO avoid at all costs your wasting your time
Pros
Fellow Engineers
Cons
yes they are
