Contracts Manager (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 10 September 2023
The company says the right things but struggles to put principles into practice. Decision making is slow. A lot of politics. Some areas are nicer than others.

Brilliant people
Production Operative (Former Employee) - Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire - 17 August 2023
Had a great time at this company. Learnt skills I can carry forward to my next job opportunity. Some upper management were a bit clueless, but that’s the majority of places.

Overall excellent experience
Financial Consultant (Former Employee) - Cardiff City Centre, Cardiff - 11 August 2023
Great location, excellent benefits. Best of all the colleagues who made working there enjoyable. Flexible hours. Great pension. They stopped awarding free shares however share save schemes are available at discount of share market value.

Low pay
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Birmingham City Centre, West Midlands - 10 August 2023
Low pay for the work and knowledge you are supposed to be trained in and supported with. There are many other companies in the city centre area which offer a higher salary for the same role, without weekend and evening work.

Great place to work
Pensions Administrator (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 2 August 2023
One of the best places I have worked! Great company benefits and you actually feel as if you are cared about. They also pay for your qualifications and actively help progression.

Great benefits and company
Capacity Planner (Current Employee) - Home Based - 24 July 2023
The company and management is amazing to be honest however the data and tech is outdated at best. It takes an age to find out what you need to know and their relationship with contractors needs more formality.

Good benefits, but lacking in organisation & structure
Pension Service Specialist & Administrator (Current Employee) - Cardiff - 20 July 2023
L&G is a good company to work for in regards to working hours, work/life balance and benefits you receive. However there is more focus on targets & SLA's, than looking out for staff and prioritising proper training. You are able to work remotely in many roles, but in some departments if you choose to work from home more you may get less opportunities for progression ad you are not seen to be 'visible', no matter how knowledgeable or experienced you may be. Many systems are fairly outdated. As a prominent company, L&G has a lot of work to do to improve, not just look good on the surface.

Fair work but poor management
Customer Service Consultant (Former Employee) - Hove, East Sussex - 13 July 2023
Company is fairly good to work for - fair pay for call centre work, good benefits etc. However, there are only one or two Managers who actually manage the department. The rest, along with the entire upper management team are woeful and know nothing of people management

Productive and fun
Pension Consultant (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 13 July 2023
Different everyday people might say awh your just on the phone yes that is true but the calls are different every time and managers are spot on with support

A supportive and collaborative environment
Talent Acquisition Specialist (Current Employee) - Hove, East Sussex - 5 July 2023
Compared to other places I have worked before L&G is a very supportive and collaborative place to work. Everyone is very friendly, happy to help and there is a real sense of togetherness. The offices in both Hove & London have just been modernised/refurbished, so the external environment also has a nice feel to it too, which now mirrors the wonderful people at L&G.
Pros
Nice Offices, Free Coffee, Good Salary & Benefits
Cons
Can't always book a desk (in the office) as it is so busy some days

27 July 2023Thanks for the great review, glad to hear you like the new facilities.
Best company I've worked for in my 15 years working
Administrator (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 28 June 2023
The company and dept really hope for a work / life balance. They've been more than accommodating with the hardware they provide and making sure things are smooth and communicated despite being a mostly at home worker. The benefits are great and they seem to really look after their staff as people tend to stay for YEARS after joining.
Pros
Work from home, good wage, regular OT at at least x1.5 pay.
Cons
Some days you're required to work until at least 5 but, that's not necessarily a negative

Amazing place to work
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Cardiff - 28 June 2023
Legal & General gave me a sense of security from day one. After securing a job when times were very difficult during Covid-19 not only did Legal & General help to provide me with a steady income they also gave me a sense of meaning. I have been supported from the get-go, we aren't just a company we're a family. There are always opportunities for progression as well as overtime. This is by far the most transparent company I have ever worked for that's truly made me feel welcome and continues to do so everyday.
Pros
Overtime opportunities, Excellent salary pay, great atmosphere

6 Months at the company
Service Support Specialist (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 27 June 2023
Having come from the Civil service previously this is a massive step up, support from managers, progression opportunities, bonuses, recognised for putting in the work. Company actually follows agile working and allows flexible working home/office, able to come into office once a week Workplace culture is not toxic, very sociable and everyone is willing to help
Pros
Free fruit, always an event in the week in office, bonuses, work/life balance. High street discounts, share scheme
Cons
None

Financial Services best kept secret.
Talent Acquisition Specialist (Current Employee) - Home Based - 27 June 2023
I've been working at L&G now for 18 months plus. It's a great place to work, with flexible working hours for those with families to juggle. I have good colleagues and thoroughly enjoy working here.
Pros
The team, opportunity to progress, broaden experience.

Collaborative environment with fantastic work-life balance
Talent Acquisition Specialist (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 27 June 2023
Approaching my third year at L&G, I can honestly say it's the best company I've worked for. The collaborative nature is intrinsic to this. There is a great work-life balance, which allows me to accomplish my professional goals while still having time to achieve my personal goals. I feel supported by management and encouraged to pursue interests beyond my day to day job.
Pros
Work life balance, flexibility, management, collaborative culture
