Yes it’s the same at all retail stores/ supermarkets seen as though it’s their busiest times!
Expect to be working weekends in most retail jobs...because what stores do you know food/clothing that are not open on a weekend and only operate weekdays??? Use a bit of common sense! And why would any company retail or not advertise a job vacancy and detail what hours in the day you'll be working or even detail what days/weekends you'll be required to work??? They don't have a clue until they do the staff rotas what days or hours you'll be working....
Yes expect weekends its retail, retail is weekdays and weekend hours so don't go in thinking just because they haven't put the hours down you won't be doing weekends, they don't put the hours down in a job advertisement because its shift work and depends when they need you, you'll find out your hours once you start.
There is no rota for the shop assistants. The shop assistants are the most servile in the Lidl hierarchy. Lidl's shop assistants are on-call 24/7. An absence request made to your Store Manager will evoke a response similar to Oliver Twist asking for more.
In short: You will work when told. You may only have 2 hours this month; or you may have 2,000. Either way, you will work every minute of those hours, including the mandatory minimum four-hour daily unpaid overtime.

Depends on the rota and what works for you. You can be on rota to work EVERY weekend (and for no extra pay i might add)
Depending on manager really. You can ask not to work on the weekends (whether you get anywhere is another matter)
