Support Worker in Darwen
on 5 March 2021
Unprofessional
The management do not manage very well. They walk into the staff room and don’t even acknowledge staff. Throughout the day people will be sitting doing no work and management do not challenge this. Some staff work really hard and others do nothing but no one says anything. None of the staff are valued for the hard work they put in. There are plenty of opportunities for promotion because people move on to better companies that appreciate their staff.

terrible experience
The job as a whole could be enjoyable despite being overworked and underpaid the service users made it worthwhile. However, some members of staff very clearly had favourite service users and singled others out in more ways than one e.g. speaking to them like a piece of dirt. I myself was spoken to like rubbish on a daily basis by members of staff and team leaders/seniors. I was well and truly thrown in at the deep end by being made to work uncomfortably with next to no training which I wasn't happy about however I got on with it until a team leader continued to humiliate me in front of other members of staff!! I was absolutely disgusted, no sense of professionalism whatsoever. I was heartbroken to leave as the service users were great but I don't think they are treat correctly at all, the place is filthy and if your new and haven't clicked straight in with the 'group' you'll be made to clean and do laundry for the majority of your shift, may I add that I don't mind that; however nobody else chips in to help like they should.

Mqnagementis the problem
Worked here and did my job. Enjoyed the job and role itself. But as for management area joke many people have left this job but always gone back. But when you have a snake joining the team its all snotty nose humans. Also staff are familiar with the sentence of your ground manager. You either work with them or against them as the will target you. Pathetic. And you can reply with a professional reply. Your just a company trying to look good.

Horrendous
This is short and sweet..... AVOID!! Management are nothing but bullies, all stick together and bully all the staff into leaving. They are a care company that do not care!!!

Horrible place to work
Absolutley awful place to work managers are bullies and all cover for each other .long hours for minimum wage . No support or duty of care to staff. Always breaching confidence HR are a complete waste of time when raising concerns .Stay away if you value your sanity
