Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNew Management don't know what they're doing. They don't communicate effectively with staff. The rotas are completed at the last minute and they're done, they change them at the last minite.

A good workplace
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 28 November 2023
It’s a lovely place to work at and there’s teamwork. The only problem I have is the weekly rota which always comes at last meeting thereby affecting any other commitment one has like family.

Management is absolutely shocking could not careless about the people they support or the staff. Only good part is the people you look after and the other people you work with

Excellent work place
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Lincolnshire - 19 November 2023
I started working with Lifeways a few months ago and i have had nothing but a positive experience with other support workers, team leaders and managers. I would highly recommend this place of work to anyone who is looking to transition in to a care setting as this is a wonderful and fun place to work.

Good company overall
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire - 15 November 2023
I have worked for Lifeways twice over the years, once in 2018 for 6 months and then now and I’ve been here for nearly 4 years now. I began as a support worker and soon got promoted to a team leader. I love my job, both the support worker side and the team leader side. I get to support individuals to be as independent in day to day tasks as they’re able to be. Lifeways are a big company so there are times where you feel like you get swallowed up and forgotten about, but they have an XO awards system where they celebrate when staff are going above and beyond, which I’ve never had before. Overall, I think lifeways is a good company to work for, yes the pay isn’t great, but then I don’t believe we work in care for the pay, personally. And if you believe that it is, then you are working in the wrong sector.

OK place to work
Care Co-ordinator (Former Employee) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire - 12 November 2023
I started as a support worker and progressed to care coordinator. The guys I worked with were good. The staff who I worked with were friendly. Management not so good. Work life balance not great either

Horrid Experience.
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Workington - 7 November 2023
The job itself is great, but the management have no idea what they’re doing 99% of the time, have no guts to sort things out and blatantly lie to their staff so that they can look better themselves. Management also do not know how GDPR works or confidentiality. Management also do not care about their staffs ability or mental health, simply throw a company policy at their face instead of try to rectify the issue.
Pros
None.
Cons
Everything.

Rewarding job when looking after the service users
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Accrington, Lancashire - 23 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Supporting the service users to live independently and helping them with daily tasks, being there for them , a friendly professional. Giving them life skills such as cooking and budgeting. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Other members of staff and management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not working as a team, managers having favourites , certain things being swept under carpet. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Every day is different and some days can be very challenging but when supporting the service users and helping them gain life skills it is worth it.

Everyone’s availability and flexibility are discussed during our recruitment process; and we strive to ensure shifts are split fairly amongst our teams. At Lifeways we do appreciate all the hard work of our teams so ensure everyone who works for us has access to our extensive and competitive benefits and rewards package.
Worst place I have ever worked.
Office Administrator (Former Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 22 October 2023
Office was in a nice location. Hardly any training given. When ringing in sick I got called a liar and when ringing they would never pick up the phone even though they were in the office working. Horrible place and people. Ringing me when I was on sick leave for updates and online meetings. Horrible atmosphere.

Poor support from manager
More business than care (Former Employee) - Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria - 20 October 2023
No breaks, no benefits for doing over time. Long days, more responsibility being added. Toxic environment, mistakes getting made over and over with no repercussions. Up side is the residents are wonderful to support and team leaders are always supportive. I left because I couldn't deal with the back stabbing any longer
