Work-life balance

Multiple Roles in Elvington
on 13 March 2021
A fantastic place to work
I worked for the company for a number of years and saw it grow from one to a cluster of nurseries.I progressed from a practitioner all the way to a senior position. And although the job at times was stressful and hard work. That hard work is rewarded if you're willing to put the work in. If you're ambitious and want to progress in the company then you can. If you just want to be a practitioner then you can do that too.Looking back, one of the main advantages was working 4 days, therefore having 3 days off a week. Although the hours are long in those 4 days, retrospectively, I have realised this created a brilliant work life balance. I definitely took it for granted, having worked 5 days since I left.As I progressed through the ranks, I did feel intense pressure and felt like I'd taken too much on. Unfortunately, I never felt comfortable enough to admit that. The other thing was, it seemed at times favourites emerged and were heavily rewarded which seemed quite unfair. These two reasons were big factors in leaving. Although, on reflection this may have been a mistake. The only downside of management within the company was communication. Some things seem to just get lost in translation or not mentioned at all. I think as the company grew, this became more of an issue. However, if you kept your head down and worked hard, you'd be noticed and rewarded by said management. For me, job culture was the best part of working here. It felt like a family, everyone got on and there was ann amazing atomsphere. No day was the same and it was never boring. Yes, it's hard work, working in early years takes dedication and the right mentality. But if you've got it, you will thrive here and the place will get under your skin like no where else. I still think about this place, even though i left years ago. If you have doubts applying for this job after what I've read, then you're not suitable for the role. If you've read it and feel excited. Then apply and I promise, you'll not regret it.

Great job and great people
Struggling with expansion . The job I had was great and varied. I had autonomy at first. And the time to complete the jobs asked of me and my opinion mattered.

Terrible Managment but great childen and staff
I loved my position at Little green Rascals until i felt that i was undervalued and not appreciated by the management team. It is a lovely setting and the staff are passionate about what they do it is just a pity about some of the management team.
