Fast paced but good place to work
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Knowsley, Merseyside - 18 July 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedBusy but good place to work. With good organisation skills it's not difficult. J is a great manager and if you're being honest and not avoiding your responsibilities he will always be helpful and supportive.
Pros
Good management, Not typical 9 to 5
Cons
Unpredictable

Long hours
Just parcels and more parcels.. independent, not much out of it but a workout, not worth your time unless you have your own van and can keep up with the fast pace.

Insights into LLG NW LTD
What people like
- Support from manager
- Inclusive work environment
- Clear sense of purpose
Easy job, high targets
Delivery associate (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 24 January 2023
Easy way to make a living, but some truly unrealistic targets to complete. If not met, then there is a severe risk to earnings and punishment for not meeting their quota which can be farcical at times.
Pros
Easy money
Cons
Unrealistic targets

It was ok management friendly
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Knowsley, Merseyside - 18 July 2022
only problem i had working here was consistently badgered to do reattempts even though it had taken me over 10 hours to deliver my actual parcels even then the amazon app wouldnt allow me to scan them so had to do them from a sheet. route should take 9 hours HOWEVER streets in liverpool can be difficult and are really tight and you cant park to deliver so takes you longer hence route over runs & businesses to deliver on the app only appear at 5pm to deliver and that does not help you as you end up going back with at least 20 commercial packages and get moaned at for it your out then til 10pm and no chance of getting home before 11.ive now applied to work closer to home to work with another dsp as my family comes first.

Hard work but good fun!
Courier (Current Employee) - Knowsley, Merseyside - 16 July 2022
Been at LLG NW for approx 9 months. Always found J to be very approachable and honest with myself and helps you out whenever you need it for example days off on short notice / shorter route if needed. No pressure to do anything extra if not wanted. Good little team at the moment all help each other. Enjoy the job being on the road meeting new people. The work can be hard to begin but once you’re in a rhythm and settled you find your own way of working and it’s pretty easy 👍

Good pay, a lot of work
Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Deeside, Flintshire - 14 June 2022
Isn't too bad. Only thing that sucked was weather (sometimes) and some days you would just get a big work load. Other than that pay was pretty great and so were the people.

Productive and good place to work
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 14 June 2022
I loved working there and probably would still be there if I had not had some health issues that temporarily kept me from performing at 100%.

Enjoyed my time here
Delivery Assistant (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 13 June 2022
really enjoyed my time at LLG. It wasn’t like anywhere I’d worked before. Everyone was a big family, always laughing and joking, and aslong as you got your work done, it was a very relaxed atmosphere which is the perfect way to work.

Self employed
To be fair this place is spot on. I've had up and downs but just part of any job. Really flexible that suits me down to a tee. Highly recommend.

Room for growth
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Knowsley, Merseyside - 13 June 2022
There is a ton of room for growth within LLG if you apply yourself to the best of your abilities. For most positions, education can be overlooked if management believes you can carry out the job duties. ast paced, many variables, management is fair. Workplace culture is good -like family.

Good company
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Deeside, Flintshire - 13 June 2022
Very good place to work despite being a very busy place. Colleagues and even the managers make every one feel like we are all a big family trying to achieve the same goal. Thanks

Crazy Days
Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Deeside - 9 June 2022
Can earn decent pay check but expect to work 12hrs plus a day. All days 100 to 150 drops, Hourly rate works out terrible. They also screw you with van rentals too as well as high quotes for damage. Avoid
Pros
None
Cons
Long hours. Costly rental plus damage quotes.

Official response from LLG NW LTD
13 June 2022Thanks for your review, we're left a little confused, however. The way the system works our drivers can't go over 10 hours delivering per day. Very, very rarely do they ever go over 9 hours for their routes. I assume, if you are out for 12 hours per day quite a chunk of that time is on your commute which unfortunately, we have no control over. Van Rentals are explained, in full, before being handed any keys. We have hundreds of people renting fully insured vehicles from LLG, if we weren't competitive on price, that wouldn't happen. If you were unhappy with the price, did you try sourcing your own vehicle? With regards to the damage invoice - If you were unfortunate enough to damage one of our vehicles, all repairs go to an insurance approved body shop for a full quote, that is then sent on to yourself for your record. However, all drivers are welcome to obtain their own quote for damage through a body shop of their choice. Did you do this?
All in all okay but tread carefully
Self Employed Courier (Former Employee) - Deeside - 8 June 2022
Worked with these for 18 months with no issues apart from that occasional cut when needing work. Then had one accident and 2 scrapes in the space of three months attitude soon changed and I was forced out. Management wise at Deeside well they are not managers but just Despatchers well you have two at Deeside, one excellent and will also listen to ideas and one who is just out of his depth with no man management skills and cannot take banter the right way. Beware the vans too seriously most are in need of a good fix too many times the break down or bits don't work on them. The routes are realitively easy but still 90 stops on a rural route is ridiculous when other courier services do the same routes with 40 to 60 stops. They bang on about reattempts in the group chat constantly without regards to the fact you could be a 40 minute drive away from reattempt but they equally moan if you leave the item in a recycle bin. All in all LLG are not the worst DSP to drive for just remember though you are self employed so they cannot tell you what to do or how to do it.
Pros
Easy routes
Cons
One half of the despatch team

Unsupportive and unresponsive
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Trafford Park, Greater Manchester - 7 June 2022
The management doesn't care about you and will often get annoyed when you run into issues that aren't necessarily your fault. Communication is non-existent and they will get rid of you if you don't comply with them.

Official response from LLG NW LTD
9 June 2022Really sorry to hear you've had this experience and felt the need to leave a negative review. We have received no complaints from any of the team at Trafford Park however, so we have no way of knowing if the above is true. The feedback above doesn't match any leavers survey's we have received either. If you don't mind, could you please send an email to our Admin Team on adminteam@llgnw.co.uk detailing what happened so we can get to the bottom of this for you! Hope to hear from you soon, LLG
Stressful and underpaid
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Deeside - 28 April 2022
Pay sounds nice on the ad but in reality they shaft you with fuel cards, van rental, insurance unless you have your own van and don't mind working flat out 10 hours a day for what I'd say isn't enough money don't bother apply as a flex driver for similar money and an easier job

Official response from LLG NW LTD
4 May 2022Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, I'm sorry your experience with us has left you feeling this way! On the initial telephone call where we explain the role to you & on your application form its raised a number of times that the van rental package including Fuel Cards and Insurances comes to £32.98 per day: There's two whole A4 pages dedicated to Vehicle Rental and Insurance on your SLA that you have to sign & verify. Did you manage to read the adverts and agreements before you signed them? It's not sprung on you or something we keep hidden. As I say, I’m sorry you felt the need to leave this review, we wish you the best of luck for the future!
