Good place but low chance of progression
Customer Service Assistant (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 10 November 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedUnless you have a degree, progression can take ages before it happens. You have to continously apply for jobs within and mostly you will hear No. They keep you on A grade for as long as possible with immense work pressure.

Stressful and time consuming
Mortgage and Protection Advisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 20 June 2022
Lloyds bank has a big reputation and when I joined was when Mortgage Market Review was being initiated. The training was top notch, informative, useful, team building, you knew you could do the job at the end and was fully supported all the way through. Then the restructuring began, areas changed, Area managers moved around. They utilised many old school out of date managers not suited for the role and favoured people they liked regardless of capability. Within two years I felt out of place, non supported, picked on and out of the loop. Then they micro managed everything, from interviews, appointments to general banking hall interactions. It never felt productive to the bank let alone the customer, they neglected customers who were long standing, no emphasis on retaining business just generating new. So much it majorly effected my health and I had to leave for that reason.
Pros
Salary, staff, location
Cons
STRESS!!!!! Felt worthless

Insights into Lloyds Bank
Areas for improvement
- Energising work tasks
- Fair pay for job
- Sense of belonging
Great place to work for. You really are cared about as an individual
Customer Advisor (Former Employee) - Remote - 15 June 2022
Management take responsibility for issues and offer great support. Regular check ins for well-being and performance review. Only let down is progression, it seems to only match the interest of the business. A lot of internal recruitment advertised but the opportunity to move depends on if your current team needs you! I would recommend it if you are happy to stay in the role you apply for. You really are considered part of a Lloyds family!
Pros
Private healthcare, car lease programme, good amount of holiday, bonuses

Fair employer
Personal Banking Adviser (Current Employee) - Worcestershire - 31 May 2022
Fair employer providing on going training, support and career progression if desired. Very supportive through Covid showing they do value the well-being and work life balance of their staff.
Pros
Many benefits which continue to grow.

stressful but good benefits
Banking Consultant (Former Employee) - Essex - 9 May 2020
ill start with the bad. career progression is promised as a main priority but they make far more redundancy's than job openings and for a company that boast their billions of pounds profit each year the job security isn't as good as you'd think and the pay is very low. morale of the job is depressing and dishonest. also there are so many levels of management, no matter what role you're in, you always feel like the dogs dinner.
however the benefits are good. such as Bupa healthcare, cycle 2 work scheme, flex bonus, yearly bonus (usually <5%), sharematch and sharesave. overall this job will probably not make you feel content as you just feel like another small cog turning in a very big engine.

Settled work
Investment reviewer (Former Employee) - Exeter - 24 March 2020
Tedious or stressful. Rarely an in between. Good job security, good people and flexible working. Management leaves a little to be desired and chance of promotion seems slow moving

No progression, no work life balance for families
Cashier/Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Worcestershire - 12 March 2020
Great to start with, good pay & benefits however, no real pay increase over my time here, bonuses dangled in front of you all year, then only a handful of the team rewarded
No work/life balance AT ALL when you have kids, management use it as an excuse to transfer you as you’re made to feel they’re no use to them
Have met some really great people, and have great experiences, but blighted by current pushy poor management system that’s ruining the branches for the staff & customers

Stressful and low paid
QA Tester (Current Employee) - Cardiff, Cardiff - 2 March 2020
stressfull and low paid, good people but dreadful management, currently downsiing. Work as a contractor on a daily rate which equates to 3 x times what the permanant staff get paid for the same job, creates understandably a quite bad atmosphere

Working at Lloyd’s bank is very good especially for my age as I am seventeen. It is all around good vibes and a nice working environment. It is hard but rewarding

Banking Consultant

Decent job not very difficult pay could be better and pressure from management to sell is high. Customers are mostly nice and good benefits package really.

Friendly workplace
CHEMIST - JUNIOR ASSISTANT (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 21 November 2019
Friendly people around you at all times however the pay was not very good and was always being paid wrong. The work was not too hard and there was always someone to help if needed.

Good company
Customer Advisor (Former Employee) - Hereford - 18 November 2019
The benefits of the job were good but the pay possibly could be better according to area in which you live
Good holiday entitlement but sometimes unnecessarily stressful - this is most likely branch/management dependent

Would recommend
Group Transformation Change Business Analyst - Common System Migration (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 4 October 2019
I would recommend Lloyd’s bank as a place to work, they could do more in the way of salary as overall when looking at the market their pay is quite low, otherwise their culture and work life balance is very good!

friendly and welcoming people.
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Leigh-on-Sea, Essex - 1 October 2019
The Bank is in the midst of big change, promotion of multi channel banking has decreased the amount of branches and staffing required. The staff work hard as the staffing level is kept quite low.
The Management are approachable and generally happy to help with any queries or concerns, the staff are lovely people to work with and most go above and beyond to help customers. The bank offers good benefits and the pay is acceptable.
I have enjoyed my time with Lloyds and feel sad that progression may deprive many people of personal contact in a place where they felt confident and welcome to discuss their banking.

Intense Training
Good employer, recognises a job well done, can be intense but that's due to being a financial institution and expected, although some staff don't really see this and therefore don't last very long. mixture of managers, same as anywhere else, sometimes your face needs to fit, some managers get away with doing very little and others have to work their socks off.
Pros
free hot drinks and water
Cons
not enough time between calls
