Good training

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Enjoyed working in the call centre. Really good training and management were competent. Good level of progression could be achieved and always internal jobs on the intranet.

Pros

Good work life balance

So far so good

Difficult at first feeling being micro-managed but new manager was very relaxed until he wasn’t. Can be draining when bad reception or background noise or difficult customers. But feel learning more and more about the banking world and enjoy my job more than I thought I would working in a call centre

Pros

Relaxed environment, good facilities ie fridges, coffee machines, sofas, encouraging manager

Cons

More late shift pattern than early shift pattern, feels a bit ‘big brother’

Productive and fun place to work

Productive and fun place to work . Lots of opportunities for self development and to take on a variety of tasks. No two days are the same. Really supportive management structure

Cliques and office politics

Big company mentality (your just a number) to progress you have to be in with the right people otherwise you have no chance, work politics are as bad as I have seen at any other company.

Horrible culture

They continually get rid of people and pile work load onto everyone else. Without rewarding them. Horrible work place. No flexibility. Do not work for them

Extremely low morale at present

Extremely low morale at present, branches working on the bare minimum of staff. Colleagues are overworked, overwhelmed and at breaking point. Pushed to sign up for an Apprenticeship, however, no time is being allocated for it. Development is non existent, targets are the only thing that matter. Very little work/life balance, I have given years of my life to this company and they have finally broken me, taken my self respect and joy for life that I once had.

Pros

A regular salary

Cons

Lack of support, non investment in their digital solutions, compared to other high street banks. Low salary, lack of development opportunities, very sales driven.

Depends on Dept and manager

I started working in general insurance it was a call centre and very strict. Noone was happy there. I got a job in pensions which was good until my manager changed and I got a bully for a manager. After submitting a grievance I moved to a different manager who was lovely. Unfortunately made redundant as many roles have been outsourced. Job security seems a thing of the past in Lloyd's Banking Group with redundancies being a regular thing. If you get in department with good people then its a good place but call centre environment type department is horrible no work life balance and not all managers are good

Pros

If you get a good manager in a good department great

Cons

Too many redundancies too much outsourcing

Many layers of competing micromanagers

Had so many managers micromanaging me and barking completely different conflicting instructions at me literally every few minutes that I couldn't get anything done properly or to anyone's satisfaction. They'd tell me to something vague that didn't make any sense and when I tried to get clarity they'd be taking phone calls and running off to other meetings so I could never get any more than a couple of mins of their time. of them

Cons

Managers make no time for staff.

good benefits, limited security

Worked at lloyds over 16 years, if you are happy living in an uncertain environment and are good with change then this business would work for you. It is fast paced, agile within reason and has allot of the best practices in place for employees

Pros

Benefits

Cons

insecurity

Target driven environment

Very target driven and stressful environment working as a contractor through a third party provider. Level of pay for the intensity of work not sufficient.

Great place and company to work for.

Enjoyed nearly 3 years as a a finance contractor on 3 separate important projects. Working as a FBP in the change management team, I presented to stakeholders and advised of the project finance status on a regular basis

Not interested

I'm not in the least bit interested in being forced to submit a review when I understood this part to be obligatory. Please adjust your settings accordingly.

Avoid

Avoid, micro management at its worst, no progression possible, no regard for colleagues wellbeing or morale, workloads unmanageable and unrealistic, culture not employee friendly.

Demanding but rewarding place to work with good people.

I do not wish to comment, to have to leave a review I feel is not appropriate as my opinions may differ to those of another person therefore, I decline to comment.

Lloyds Banking Group

Great people, great company overall, transformation within the organisation is second to none, would recommend if you enjoy pressurised working environment, where you can develop and enhance your skills and knowledge.

Good if you're looking for a career in Banking

If you are looking for a career in banking then Lloyds banking group is a good company to work for. The company is very vast and if you want to progress there are many avenues you can go down

Busy

Always lots to do. Manage your own workload and clients. Small amount of phone work. Need excellent attention to detail. Typical day will involve one or two new applications, you will contact then client in order to understand the business they are opening an account for. You then manage the application until account opening which involves chasing up documents and AML checks.

Pros

Bonus, sharesaves, work life balance

Large company

Great town center location which is good if you use public transport to get to work Good On-site facilities Banks do not have job security anymore and they are constantly reviewing processes
