Challenging, fast paced environment
No two days are ever the same. Responsible for all HR activities for a team of up to 60 colleagues, I deal with anything from simple holiday requests to grievance meetings and performance / absence management for my colleagues. At the same time I ensure we deliver a high level of service to customers maintaining accuracy whilst delivering a cost effective, efficient response in a call centre environment. The focus is very much on ensuring colleagues enjoy their role and put the customer at the heart of everything they do.

Rewarding
My day start with review my calendar to see what meetings I have for the day and make sure I am prepared. I then work through my inbox responding to emails. Through working for Lloyds Bank, I have learnt a great deal and managed to achieve certificates and qualifications. The part of the job I enjoy most, is the interaction with my colleagues and training Stakeholders to be the best they can be in their role.

Focus Driven
A typical day is very reactive. I would look into what the business needs from my team be it initial case review, re-review, fos review or data gathering. Due to the supply and demand into the site fluctuating so much we need to be extremly flexible and reactive to what is needed. Some days I mayh require my full FTE of staff to focus on one area of the business, others there may be all 5 teams doing different elements of the job. This is the most enjoyable as you can really pull the plans together. With clear, focus, plans and communication between the teams then we can really make an impact on the supply and respond to customers efficiently. Regimented 'huddles' or 'meetings' with the management team is key to success. Update of performance, revisit of plans and change of resource into different areas is common in order to achieve a set goal. The hardest part of the job is not being able to complete all work within my team if require external stakeholder interaction. This can slow production however, by identifying this issue as early as possible it is feasible to change plan to provide more resource in other areas. The most important piece in all this are the staff. They are the heart beat of the 'produciton line' they need to be kept fully engaged in the plans, why they are relevant and the part they play. This is for two main reason, so they know what impact they have on the business from the actions they take and also this allows a level of neccassary challenge.
