Bus Driver in Edinburgh

Fast paced and very stressful
I worked at Lothian for 9yrs as a Driver. Garage bosses varied. I worked at marine garage and my manager treated you as a person and not just a number he listened to you and actually cared not like the other managers in the other garages. If you have a family with young kids this job isn’t for you as the shift work is horrendous. Wages after your first 3yrs are amazing you’d need a trade to get the same wages. You can walk out with around £650pw if your willing to do overtime.

It is what you make it.
If you put your head down and graft then opportunities are available for progression. It can be hard at times but that’s when you need to pull up your sleeves. Shifts are ideal for childcare. If you do your best and work within the team you will be left alone to do your job which is well paid when you look at other places around.

Steer clear of this company if you value your sanity. Constant threat of being reported hanging over you whether it's out on the road or in the depot. Bosses are only interested when your working all the hours for them as soon as you say no to overtime their attitudes change. Your brainwashed into thinking you won't get paid as well or get as good benefits elsewhere. Believe me that's nonsense.

No life
If you want your life span to dramatically decrease then become a bus driver, not a job for a young person with a family, this job leads to litterly no life. Pay is OK but it's a long wait until you are on good pay which I feel is very unfair for the kind of lifestyle and work stress that comes along with it. Dayshift backshift midshift your body clock is always to pot, bad for your health in my opinion. Only good thing about the job is your colleagues you work with. Good bunch of people. Only apply if your on the verg of retirement and to tide you over until you retire.
