How are the working hours at Loungers?

  • For managers you are contracted 48 hours a week. However, you will be expected to do every hour they can throw at you. You will not get paid for extra hours worked. You will be expected to start at 8am and finish at midnight or sometimes even later. Then come back in for 8am. You will be utterly exhausted. Will little time for breaks.

  • BOH, hours are long with split shifts and some can be over 6 hours so they take 20 mins off your pay and it's up to you to take your break

  • Contracted to 48 hours, a mix of some longer days balanced out with shorter shifts to cover needs of the business.

  • For salaried colleagues the hours are out of line with the salaries paid. They will bang on about it only being a 48 hour week - it is simply not true.

  • Ok. Zero hour contract, one week could be 60 the next 12. Often have to work until 12 at night then back in for 8.30 am (illegal)

  • Very long, often people will have to close then open the next morning meaning they aren't getting 11 hours between shifts. Often you will be asked to work 12 hours shifts and will struggle to get a break as they are so understaffed.

  • Sporadic, and lorded over people as a form of control. if you do get hours they will blast you with splits and open closes. Having no regard for the working day week (we do sign it away in our contracts)
