73 questions about working at Lush Cosmetics
Wear something you’ll be comfortable in as the interviews can be quite involved. But also make sure it’s nice, and that you look relatively put together. (Don’t turn up in a tracksuit)

It is such a long process. Felt like I was applying for a profession job, when in fact it was only a Christmas temp position. So firstly I handed my CV with a cover page, which felt like I was writing an essay on how much I love lush. Then, two weeks later I got invited to a group interview. There was so many people, biggest one I’ve attended. I would say probs 40 people attended with having at least 10 people who didn’t attend. This interview consisted of 5 sections; one on one interview, a little pitch and 3 activities. One on one interview questions included: who is your role model and why? Why lush? Describe a hard time you’ve had with a customer and how did you deal with it? Around a week and half later I was told I was successful to attend the trial shift. It was 1.5hr long, where we had to go to department stores and see how customer service is being provided, then had a trial on shop floor. Try and approach customers, do demos and at the front of shop greet customers with ‘welcome to lush, what brought you in?’. Also, try testers on customers. A week later I was told I got the job and to attend a 4 day training. Trial shift was paid too. Pay is excellent, £8.75. Discount is great, 50%. Plus you get a lot of free stuff.

You usually come for a group interview, then do a shop floor trial and maybe an solo interview afterwards

I'm proud of the work and would always be supportive of the brand, but the individual store - perhaps not.

Lush don’t discriminate by age or by anything actually. If you’re passionate about the brand you should definitely go for it. If anything it’s nice to have a variety of ages in the team as some customers will feel more comfortable with older sales assistants!

Started off with ice breakers such as two truths and one lie. Describe Lush as if you’re talking to someone who has never visited a Lush before. (Basically cover all the key points about Lush)What makes a good sales assistant? If you had to nominate a charity for charity pot, what would it be and why?Why do you think you’d be good at the job? Then we were given a product that we had to demo, talk about and basically try to sell!If you’re the right fit for the job, the interview is easy!
