Rude management

Fun fast paced environment. Management could be harsh but other than that fun to work and good employee benefits. Could be stressful and fast paced but I reckon this was due to time of year. Employees were lovely.

Temp contract danger

I was so excited to work for Lush UK. Their ethical code was something to be admired. I got the job and started working two days after acceptimg their offer.The environment at Unit 2 was awesome; lovely people who were approachable, and they boasted a free hot chocolate/coffee machine that was somewhat temperamental. I made freinds easily and my colleagues said i were keeping up and doing well. I started to know the layout of the factory and felt like i was putting in 110% of my effort. Until I got called in for my 10bday review where they fired me. Along with 3 other temps 4 days later. I was gutted. I put in over time and had no negative or positive critisism or personal feedback from any team leaders. I and my whole team were so confused. And angry. Apparently this wasn't the first time. Colleagues discussed segregation in the work place due to particular managers having favourites due to where they come from. Others spoke about poor middle management and over hiring, leading them to get rid of the last people they hired. Easy when they're just talking numbers, right? No grudge for anyone working on the floor, team leaders included, they were all lovely. But as for management, they need looking at due to this reaccuring pattern that no one is speaking about.

Shocking Management

Management expect you to give up everything for the store. This cannot just be your part-time job but your life. By the end, it was unethical how they would hire university students yet not give them the appropriate days off for university. The company itself, products and some staff members are amazing and i just wish the management could keep up with the same standard.

What is the best part of working at the company?I worked as a sales person for 5 years . The company looked after its staff really well and treated them as colleagues rather than numbers. There were incentives to encourage staff to perform well and the pay was pretty goo too as well as staff discount .What is the most stressful part about working at the company?There are a lot of products to familiarise yourself self with and ingredients to learn plus the shop is quite small spot could get a bit crowded What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Clean and varied . Very accommodating to all and accepting of all genders race and ages generally a pleasant environment and an enjoyable place to work What is a typical day like for you at the company?Depends on the time of year busy at holiday periods but can be quite sometimes. Seasonal time ie Christmas is usually the busiest time

Awful working environment

They let people go with no notice and no clear reasoning. Felt very job insecure despite working incredibly hard. Almost all every temporary staff member hired was let go within 2 weeks including people with children and rent to pay.

Working at Lush is challenging but rewarding, despite sometimes being a busy, fast paced environment it does pay off. The Lush Staff are treated with respect and care. I’ve worked for Lush in 2 departments now. Gifts/Digital Fulfilment and Dairy. Both departments have been amazing to work it. However it does need to be considered that it is only ever temporary work. Lush do not take on temporary staff as permanent, EVER! But if your looking for a challenging but rewarding temporary job with lots of benefits then it’s the perfect job.

I had the best colleagues and managers I could ask for. A very diverse company with a range of learning opportunities and a prioritization for staff wellbeing and mental health. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and was regularly praised for my hard work as well as offered many learning opportunities.

Great place to work, have to keep energy high . Lots of training given and very supportive environment. Shop got very busy especially at Christmas, but made the shift go quick and the team bounced off of each other
