Generally a good place to work but has negatives

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
They are a good employer if you are in the right job. Some departments seem to get very well paid and others definitely not. I enjoyed working there but did not feel valued by senior management, you are just a number to them. They have some good employee benefits and training programs for sales, but could do with better training/induction for other areas of the business.

Pros

Good benefits

Cons

Doesn't value employees

Watch your back

If you work as a driver in certain depots you would be wise to watch your back. A deputy manager and team leader at a depot in the midlands are people best to avoid where and when you can.Lots of favouritism regarding team leaders routes as they usually get much easier days than the regular drivers (they say it’s because they have to do other duties) but that’s not always true.If you want to rush around like a blue a**sed fly all day then go for it otherwise avoid!

Pros

Used to be some

Cons

Lower management

Great company to work for, lovely people too!

Lyreco has a great company ethos, and supporting values. It's amazing to work for a company who genuinely wants to be the positive change they want to see in the world. Working with a diverse range of people, definitely helps keep you motivated and up-beat, and makes coming to work a pleasure. There's excellent on-site facilities such as a large and affordable canteen, eco-garden and chill-out areas. Management are friendly and approachable and genuinely want you to grow and be the best version of yourself. The Managing Director and Senior Management Team are really down to earth which is great. There's plenty of support available such as Mental Health first aiders who are brilliant if you want a quick, confidential chat as well as Winston the well-being dog!Would definitely recommend applying for a job at Lyreco, if you're looking to start a career, or develop yours further.

Pros

Large Canteen and Affordable Food, Great Nespresso Coffee, Friendly Teams across the entire business, Flexible Working and Support

Great company

Great company to work for, at the time I had a poor manager that was kept in the business and they protected him. Other than that they are a great company to work for.

Some great people to work with, but

There are some positives about working for Lyreco, which are:They have some really good benefits such as private medical for all staff, life assurance, pension, refer a friend scheme, benefits platform with shopping discounts and ecards to say thanks to colleagues etc. and reasonable holiday entitlements, particularly if you’ve worked there a long time. There are some people within the business who are genuinely helpful and supportive and make the working day a good one. If you’re in Sales they have a really comprehensive induction program to help get you started in the job. They do a lot to support charity organisations and their customers formally and informally, and they probably don’t boast enough about exactly how much they do for them. They genuinely have a passion for doing their bit to help the environment, having solar panels, keeping bees and recycling the rain water to flush their toilets, amongst lots of other things too. They have introduced mental health first aiders as well as having an EAP available for all employees. Unfortunately there are also some less positive things about working for Lyreco too. With the change of some senior management posts more recently, people are no longer their priority. You almost have to be in the club to fit in, and anyone who isn’t (in the club), doesn’t have the right to an opinion or to be treated with any respect. When members of senior management say things like ‘people are two a penny’ and ‘they’re easily replaceable’ it doesn’t make you feel very valued or secure in your job.

Pros

Company benefits

Cons

Unstable, stressful at times, feeling like you’re just a number

Welcoming company

My time here has been great. Lots to get involved in and can try new things. Able to work at own pace to get things done. Good management and leadership styles. The culture is great at the head office, everyone nice and happy to help out.

Pros

Recognition, good work/life balance

Cons

None that I can think of

Don't give a job up to work there

Do not give a job up to work there, they are good sales people and will make it sound as though you will earn alot if commision, you won't. Long hours, unreasonable expectations, no work life balance and very high turn over of staff..Don't do it ...PLEASE!!

Ideal First Field Sales Role

Really good company, with excellent training and bonus structure. Able to earn good levels of commission and if you are willing to put in the work this will continue. Only down side is that with them trying to reduce staff numbers patches are merged into each other meaning this could effect your commission, sometimes measures are put in place and other times they aren't which is frustrating.

Send you all over the Country. Sometimes an hour between drops then have the cheek to question you to why you took so long to cover the area ??

No back up fron management. The difference in the hours worked from driving a van(7-8 hours) to driving a HGV or 7.5 tonne (9-12 hours) but both are paid the same rate. Van drivers...decent people but always trying to get you to take their deliveries if you are working in the same area. Driving a HGV 45 mins to deliver 2 boxes is just plain .crazybu.managemahaveagreethei

Worst job ever

Avoid this company if you value your sanity. Unrealistic targets, bad ma agement that only care about their own bonus. Bad training from someone who has never even done a sales role in his life. All they care about is new business. They can't compete with industry competitors on price. One word: RUBBISH

decent company

.decent company stable job, good management but car options, benefits and bonuses are very poor if you need an audio for medical reasons you will get something very small and inadequate even if you have young children and car seat requirements.

Work hard & you will be rewarded

Typical Field sales role- cold calling, customer visits - target focused job. You need to be confident, hard working and organised to do this role. management tend to micro manage anyone not performing to target.

Awful management no clue

Start of interested and helping you than fill you with lies, targets hard to hit, managers no help at all and want you to work 24/7. Line managers try to bully and if you stand up call you in for review meetings. Always putting prices up without letting customers know. stay clear backwards company
