Shaping a sustainable future As a global investor, we are playing a part in finding solutions to some of the most challenging issues facing the world and humankind. We think M&G plc can help create a better future for our customers and for the planet, and we’re determined to deliver. We have committed to a 10 point sustainability plan, which sets out the company’s key priorities, where it is on its journey to becoming a fully sustainable business, and the next steps towards reaching its ambitious targets. Understanding systemic risks and working for a just transition As stewards of the long-term savings of millions of people, we have a responsibility to invest for a sustainable future. The world and its economy are facing a multitude of challenges – including climate change, biodiversity loss and social injustice. We are looking at the interdependence of sustainability issues, and the need for a holistic approach to investing sustainably. Just one example is water, and its impact on communities, the environment and the economy. Catalyst’s role in sustainable investing With a £5 billion mandate from the Prudential With-Profits Fund, our Catalyst team invests in early stage private businesses developing solutions that could transform our environment and society for the better. With its long term, flexible, global approach, Catalyst is able to channel capital to where it is needed the most. One recent example is Catalyst’s investment in the sustainable transport revolution through TIER Mobility.

Early Careers

Apprenticeship programme We offer a highly structured training programme for school/college leavers with placements across all parts of our business such as Investments, Operations, Wealth, Technology, Finance and many more. You will be part of a fast-paced work environment that’s constantly challenging you to learn and develop but we will support you every step of the way. Graduate and Internship schemes Our graduate and internship schemes are designed to train and develop truly diverse early in career talent to help shape the future of our organisation. Our graduate schemes are open to graduates of any degree discipline and our summer internships are open to students in their penultimate year of undergraduate studies. You’ll receive comprehensive training, and support through mentorship, making our programmes suitable for those without industry knowledge. Experiences and opportunities Joining one of our early careers programmes is about learning a variety of new skills and being part of a community. Our 2021 Graduates volunteered at the Newmans Community Trust (NCT) in September. Graduate volunteers helped staff and members of the community to continue the renewal of woodwork around the premises and gardens.
