Eye opener.
Screw In Fitter (Former Employee) - Dartford, Kent - 31 May 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWouldn't recommend. Not worth the stress from management. I was lied to, all you are seen as is a number. They look at numbers on a screen, they don't have a touch of reality in them.
Pros
Drive company vehicle
Cons
Long hours either side of work hours

Unorganised
Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer (Former Employee) - South London, Greater London - 17 September 2023
I left my career as a qualified gas engineer after being contacted by a recruiter with the job opportunity I went in it to thinking I would have a new career in the industry I completed all my training and this is when everything went down hill I started to meet some of the management team and supervisors whilst I was being mentored. The first thing I was told by a mentor is if they don’t like you you won’t be here long they’ve seen it happen many times before and that is one of the reason why they only bring people on as subcontractors (you get a permanent role from supervisor and up) with this knowledge I carried on with my mentoring after a couple of months the onboarding team started having trouble finding mentors for the new recruits which resulted in large stays at home 3 and half weeks What was more disturbing was the fact that we had to do a final sign off and if you didn’t pass you would have to continue with a mentor I found out the hard way that if you didn’t pass by the third time that you would be fired and then the agency in which you worked for would then demand money from you I was shocked that I was left in this position but it didn’t come as a sup rise as I had been told by a mentor you have a target on your head they don’t like you and the supervisor wants you gone I wouldn’t of left my Gas career if I knew I would of been treated like this but advise any body that is thinking or newly joined to reconsider as you aren’t treated correct at all
Pros
Mentors if you get the right one
Cons
Lies. Subcontracting, management

Ids cumbernauld
TELEMETRY Technician (Former Employee) - Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire - 9 August 2023
Lanarkshire Managers are never in, project engineers off every Friday, no communication no desire to make sure you know the job properly. They don't care at all. Clueless.

Stressful
Plumber (Former Employee) - London South East, Greater London - 9 July 2023
Long work hours. Unrealistic expectations. All they care about is numbers on a screen. Pressure put on worker. Too much driving. Too much stress for the job and unorganised.

Don't apply
Plumber (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 April 2023
Worst company I've worked for, you will have no life, no money, headaches, aggro and a shortened life from stress. Best thing to do is not apply. Pay your parking fines even though your there to do a job. Could be anywhere in the area of Thames water, rubbish tools supplied. Terrible management.
Pros
Work van
Cons
Could be working anywhere, unrealistic targets, management, planners, outdoor work mainly, badly under paid

Highways Operative (Current Employee) - Taunton, Somerset - 25 March 2023
I have worked in the Taunton depot for the last 5 years and can hand on heart say I have never worked with a greater bunch of lads. Management are class very understanding and the variety of work means your always doing something different
Pros
Work life balance
Cons
Winter maintenance but good pay

Decision paralysis across the business
Business Analyst (Current Employee) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire - 23 February 2023
Below average workplace. Culture nonexistent and management that are unsure what they want to do. Varied projects and good coworkers are the only positive.

Small time lines. Always feel pressured
Overhead linesman (Current Employee) - All over - 19 December 2022
Expected to be on site for 7.30. Depending on the job, most of the time you could be climbing all day or the odd occasion get a little break which isnt enough considering the amount of physical heavy work you do
Pros
Paid 30 minute dinner
Cons
Dont often get dinner

Stay well clear management are bullies
Pre-enablement engineer (Former Employee) - Dorset - 25 November 2022
I worked here for 12 months love the job didn’t like the bullying tactics from the management. There is no such thing as work, life balance. And they mess you about with your money all the time. When I was working there, there was eight of us and we all left because it was that bad.
Pros
None
Cons
Conned by management

Energetic and proactive
Payroll Office assistant (Former Employee) - Stevenage, Hertfordshire - 9 October 2022
I personally really enjoyed working in People Services as a Payroll office Administrator. My line manager always made sure I was included in daily meetings and always felt appreciated. People Services was a very busy department indeed, but I felt great satisfaction in resolving employees queries.
Pros
Left early on Fridays

Hard work, huge area to cover
Smart Engineer (Current Employee) - England - 21 September 2022
Typically the jobs are only sent on a Sunday Evening so you cannot plan your working week or leisure time at all. Huge area to cover and hardly any staff so most of the times you end up visiting properties alone, which is not great when working Revenue Protection. Colleagues are amazing and our manager is but higher management are invisible.

Worst company
Site Manager (Electrical) (Former Employee) - Colchester, Essex - 4 September 2022
Head office don't know their axxx from their elbow. Management are the same, very clicky and if your face does not fit your on a hiding for nothing. "Set up to fail" syndrome by Management It is quite obvious who gets treated differently within the teams...
Pros
Company van
Cons
Poor salary

Poor, unrespectful management
Meter Reader (Former Employee) - South West - 5 May 2022
M Group is a very poor company to work for. I was working in their metering division. The pay is all over the place some people doing the same job getting gauranteed a bonus, and some others on pay per read. Making there a lot of jealousy between employees. And there is no feeling of being part of a team. Just do your work and then forget about the job and go home. Only plus is you have the company vehicle to keep at home. I wouldn't recommend Morrison Data Services as a career. Maybe other parts of M Group are better. Ones without the ex management of G4S running it

Do not work here
Smart Meter Engineer (Former Employee) - London - 6 April 2022
Working here doing smart meters is not a good place to be too many jobs for the allotted time this being because of EONS process of commissioning is slow rubbish and cumbersome you will spend more time on the phone to technical support to get the meter working that’s if you can get it working otherwise put the old meter back on the wall even after all the pipe work cable change etc avoid like the plague some senior management sneaky every one is leaving this place STAY AWAY Back stabbing place
Pros
Some good mangers on the field
Cons
Sneaky senior managers

Excessive work volume and stressful
Planning & Noticing Officer (Former Employee) - Nelson - 2 April 2022
Training very poor, requested a one to one for training on several occasions which never took place. Work volume excessive, everyday a struggle to complete workload. This was felt across the whole team. Relaxed environment to work in but unfortunately very stressful due to the workload.
