HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Alconbury - 12 April 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedFormer employee I have had the same run every day even I have asked the office to change it. Very stressed and arrogant office. They make difference between the drivers. I just left.
Pros
Good trucks
Cons
Arrogant office

Dangerous workplace
HGV 1 Driver NN47PW (Current Employee) - Northampton, MA - 6 June 2023
The company breaks the rules of tachographs, you never have your break. The office calls you while driving. Cabin cameras are on 24/7. If you don't follow the office's orders, even those that break the rules of the drivers' work, they start looking at the recordings from the cab to find a reason to fire the employee.

Work Work Work No Life Balance
HGV 1 Driver (Former Employee) - East Midlands - 20 May 2023
If you are thinking of starting work with this company I would definitely recommend that you read the previous reviews left first, especially the negative reviews. I hate to have to admit but they are a pretty fair representation of the culture within the company. Definitely a face fits culture.
Pros
Good salary
Cons
Planners are prepared to push to the limit

Delusional and lost in this industry
HGV 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Tilbury - 19 May 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? When it’s home time, absolute shower of a firm, this lot couldn’t run a bath What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When the alarm goes off in The morning and your thinking you’d rather be unemployed What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Works ok, it’s the playground hierarchy that’s lost, plenty of managers but no drivers What is a typical day like for you at the company? Borderline suicidal, better off looking elsewhere

Nice people
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire - 19 April 2023
Ok place to work. Some long shifts. But that's trucking. Office staff are helpful. Management are aprocable. And if you need to change a shift or time off it gets sorted. Trucks are mantained. It's OK.

Great Place to work
LGV 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Widnes, Cheshire - 22 March 2023
I worked for Maritime for over 4 years & overall a great place to work, good equipment, great facilities at all depots easy job really. Trucks are limited to 52mph but I suppose you’re paid by the hour, all parking paid for. Good relationship with the office staff a shame some other depots are not as good, sometimes you wouldn’t think we work for the same company. Wages are decent as always could be better

Perfect if you don't like your house or family
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Coalville, Leicestershire - 20 March 2023
They want every driver to max out hours daily. You have spare time they WILL use it. You will always be lead up the garden path as they say, you have an issue management will just say 'we will sort it' never gets sorted. Planners couldn't plan a drink up at a brewery, if you ring with a concern on your run your told to just crack on regardless. Run out of time they tell you it's ok to drive over your hours. Really is the worst place I've worked by a country mile! I'd rather stack shelves in Aldi than work here.
Pros
Pay isn't bad
Cons
Long Hours. No help. Treated awfully.

Pros

Cons

Low morale at depot , drivers unhappy pushed to do overtime
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Felixstowe - 4 March 2023
Drivers are great , management only look after themselves, cut corners to get jobs covered at all times put stress on drivers to cover those jobs , push you to do long hours without asking you in first place driving times pushed to the limits ( tachometer law) never admit they pushed you to exceed law , if you do infringements to follow & disciplinary to follow . Worst firm iv ever encountered in my 25 years off driving .
Pros
Great pay
Cons
Management- bullying- verbal abuse - no trust

Good place to work
HGV Driver (Current Employee) - Tamworth, Staffordshire - 26 February 2023
Been based at Tamworth for a couple of years now, work is clean and easy trucks are decent with fridge and microwaves all the moaners here have been here years and have forgotten what general haulage or what Transport really is! Pay is good for what you do and a pay rise every year.

Great place to work
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Tamworth, Staffordshire - 23 February 2023
Worked there for a while at the Tamworth depot. Found the distribution Transport Manager to be a sound, really fair guy to work for. The Transport Manager for containers has his moments, but most of the time it’s best to ignore him.
Pros
Good laugh and great atmosphere.
Cons
Nothing!

Long hours
Driver (Current Employee) - Trafford Park, Greater Manchester - 16 February 2023
Not the best but definitely not the worst pay is quite good except if you break it down for hours actually worked don't matter what contact you are offered expect the worst as you will definitely be pushed to breaking point.

Good bunch of lads, decent management very approachable
Hgv driver/ trainer (Former Employee) - Motherwell - 12 February 2023
Had to leave for personal circumstances. Good team to work with with and best of tackle fully kitted out for tramping. Decent manager who also has a job to do, a bit regimental but all for safety reasons.
Pros
Last Friday of the month it’s free meal day
Cons
Can be long hours but take the good with the bad

Best container company you could find
HGV Driver (Former Employee) - Southampton - 3 February 2023
It was a nice steady job. The trucks are new and impeccably maintained, the facilities are top notch, they have depots all over the country which makes your life a lot easier if you are tramping, the pay is good and always on time. The training is outstanding. The managers are approachable, at the very least you can always get reach of them if you need to. The traffic operators, well… you have the good ones, and you have the frustrating ones. More than anything else, the best thing you will find in the company are the other drivers: always happy to help, and always good for a laugh.

Long hours messed about most days
Class 1 delivery driver (Former Employee) - Trafford - 19 January 2023
Late start times late finish unless your face fits. They will do anything to take bonus off you. Planning is terrible. They alway want trailers dropping off at Heineken even when you have had a long day
Pros
Decent wage Christmas bonus
Cons
Long hours jobs change constantly
