I worked for Maritime for almost 4 years as a tramper & in that time I worked at 2 of their depots. There's a lot of positives but they are sadly over shadowed by the negatives. The hourly rate isn't the best but on the same note it isn't the worst. If you want to be a tramper move on because youll spend many a night in their depots not getting paid, facilities & tackle are spot on & well maintained. The biggest issue is the middle management!! they will work you until you drop & then when you've done 70 hours in the week they then want your weekend as well, planning is poor & they speak to you like your a piece of @#!@. My advise is go to somewhere smaller who value you.
Pros
Good Facilities
Cons
Long hours & lack of respect.

Half decent wage - that's the singular pro.ZERO TRAINING!!!!Management can dish it out but can't take it back.Co workers are the same, full of ego and sarcasm but can't take it back without crying - and lying - to management behind your back.Workers narcs are in place.Full of egos and management favourites. People doing the same job on different wages. Some people on guaranteed OT.Some people get preferred shifts. Some people get to change shift. Some people do what they want.DO NOT TRUST ANYONE!!!!
Pros
Wage not bad
Cons
Management narcs in the workforce. Cry baby egos. Zero training.

Where to start.Maritime culture is toxic with management preferring to stick their head in the sand than listen to experienced workers. The hours are long with no areas to break away from computers and phones.Compensation is underwhelming unless you are in senior leadership where the salary hikes up but don't expect the IQ to follow suite. No clear targets or objectives were given at all from management who expect new employees to be psychic and understand everything with no assistance.Stay away, there are better places.
Cons
Long hours, low pay, indecisive and unqualified management, nepotism

Good company whose priority is company image. Not a great job for a married tramper as the company have no respect for your personal life. If you can put up with that, it’s a great job. Free uniform and trucks fitted with lots of extras.
Pros
New trucks
Cons
No personal life

Told at interview everything you want to hear to get you in. Your asked a preferred start time and you end up sat around for 2/3 hours waiting for a truck then expected to still do planned work!!! Management haven't got a clue on how to talk or treat drivers. High turnover of drivers. Trucks are now getting very worn and tried. Even planners think management are a joke and there all looking for other jobs. Always close to maximum hours every week.
Cons
Very long hours

I’ve worked there for 14 months and out the blue told by phone not to come in as I’ve been fired due to having 10 days off over 14 months , the office staff / planners are useless at there job . Maritime as a hole don’t care about the drivers at all your just a bum in a seat to them but the job is easy to do long hours if you want to earn a living wage otherwise it’s 44 hours for a take home £440 it’s not recommended and you will never count
Pros
Easy work
Cons
Couldn’t find there way out of a Wet paper bag

Superb vehicles and trailers, enjoyed every minute on containers. I only left because the hours were not there ( paid for 11 every day) after they bought the Manchester railhead. Own truck after 6 weeks. Fair pay for the work. Would return tomorrow if tramping was 4 or 5 days out of yard.
Pros
Vehicles, trailers, depots, planners always ok with me.
Cons
Green band driving 😩😩

Worst employers i have ever worked for. Management down on drivers like a rod of iron for the slightest things & you expected to sit & drive like a robot as they monitor your every move with internal cameras in your cab. Bad experience stay well clear.
Pros
Easy work

Bad management

As long as its done the Maritime way This is not a bad job . As a container driver your job may change during the day only because of timings. Usually a relaxed atmosphere

Belittling, name calling, constant fault finding, false accusations and deliberate set ups from a certain spiteful individual in the office...with no support from management (made it impossible to continue working there).

Formerly employed as a planner at Southampton, ran by 2 brothers. The ops manager shouts and swears all the time at staff drivers or anyone he fancies. Shift was 6-3 then 10-7 alternate days but prepare to work 12 hour shifts regularly. Awful just avoid.
Pros
Salary
Cons
Horrendous environment.
