Depends what kind of store you go to. Bigger department stores can be more organised but there are loads of middle managers so conflict can occur. Simply Food stores can be more organised as well but fewer admin staff to talk to. Better in a simply food id say.
Appalling. Muppetry at its most finest. The problem stems from managers that lie and cover for each other, ignore their duty of care and allow bullying and harassing to continue unabated. The ex Boston store manager did not invite me to the final big party and the section manager said she ' couldn't comment about that' I said if all your daughters class got invited to a party, but not your daughter, would you think that was a bit mean? Er... I've got no comment to make I'm afraid... if only managers at M&S had integrity. But no, I'm afraid not.
Treat everyone who works as suspects, constantly watching and all but accusing workers. Followed around store when doing own shopping. Managers who have access to money, accounts are not monitored enough.
Can only comment on previous job in a small town store but suffice to say there was/is definitely a clicky culture where some managers treat others differently because they formed “friendly relationships” with customer assistants which goes against the grain of good management practices.Managers are supposed to have “duty of care” for all employees and not take it upon themselves to be over friendly, merging that manager/employee divide which erodes all respect.
Friendly and helpful management staff
The staff is very friendly and everything is organised to provide good customer services
Good coustemer service
The store managers will think they are god but head office is all that matters.
Things are tuff for us just like everyone else so get the money off the customers no matter what.
