Great people in team but not management
Welfare Officer (Current Employee) - Epping - 30 January 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIn Welfare Support we help vulnerable and suicidal people , this leaves me feeling depressed and we don’t get any perks from the company to help us, not a lot of support either, just told “oh ok, well done” after saving a man’s life on a 2 hr call, yet other colleges are laughing in the office and this causes our customers discomfort and they don’t believe we want to help them
Pros
Bank holidays off and no weekends
Cons
Very low pay compered to what we do

Have a think about it first as to whether this is the job for you.
Enforcement Agent (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 7 April 2022
Don't know where they get the baffling idea you can earn up to £50k a year, no where near that. Majority of the work is poor standard and restrictive on what you can really earn. At times, real lack of support from management as you have to work alone. Promises made to you but in reality not there. Wages are low for each job you complete, compared to what agents in London/SE earn. Have asked for increases but ignored. Van hire is expensive so use your own car.

Warning read this carefully
Civil Enforcement Officer (Current Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 10 February 2022
Run for your life. Do NOT work here. It is indescribably awful on every level. The company is an oppressor and has zero respect for its staff. I still work here out of sheer desperation to pay the bills. Apply at your peril.

Brilliant
Welfare Support Officer (Current Employee) - Epping Station - 25 January 2022
Brilliant working environment with excellent staff around, thinking outside the box at the same time as member of team it's very easy to reach out to other departments for assistance with workloads.

Fast paced and challenging
Contact Centre Agent (Former Employee) - Pentrebach, Merthyr Tydfil - 22 January 2022
Fast paced job, can be stressful due to the nature of the phone calls. Management are very supportive and will do all they can to help you, feedback is consistent and extra training is given if needed. A thick skin is needed as customers can be very difficult and abusive at times. Good bonus scheme in place.
Pros
Free coffee. Good team atmosphere. Bonus scheme.
Cons
Can be stressful. Some customers can be very unpleasant.

Good company to work for
Customer Services Advisor (Former Employee) - Nailsea, Bristol - 28 October 2021
The training period should be 3 weeks with printed materials at every stage. Also for recruitment staff to ask if anyone has a reasonable adjustment necessary for to carry out the duties of the post. More attention to Coaching.
Pros
Nice place to work, excellent work colleagues, Seniors and Team Leader
Cons
The salary is low by industry standards and relies on bonuses far too much

Snake pit, back stabbers
Credit Controller (Former Employee) - Oldham, Greater Manchester - 24 July 2021
Be very careful if offered a job here, they watch your every move down to who's keyboard & mouse you use when training and make an issue of it. If you are new you are an outsider for sure. They Will use absolutely anything to bring you down. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Great company
Contact Centre Advisor (Current Employee) - Merthyr Tydfil - 23 March 2021
In the call center you can get difficult customers. But you are calling them to collect debts they haven't paid. The team atmosphere is great. You have team incentives to boost team work. Pre covid they had a tuck shop where you can buy food etc and the monies made would go to events for staff. Like free easter eggs etc. Management are very thoughtful. Personally ive not got a bad word to say about them. I've had sick days but they do actually care if you are ok or not. You get 121's weekly to let you know how you are doing. When you get the job at marston's. The dress code is relaxed so feel free to wear t shirt and jeans it's that relaxed. No one day is the same. You can never tell what call you will get next. The shifts can go really fast.
Pros
Relaxed atmosphere, great management
Cons
Can have difficult customers.

The job role in itself can be very stressful especially with it now being run as a cal centre. Every minute is timed and management is not the best.
High court enforcement officer (internal) (Current Employee) - Birmingham City Centre, West Midlands - 27 August 2020
I would recommend working for Marston if your young and not bothers much about money. The job role is very pressurised in it self and there is not much praise in the office at all. It can be a very negative environment to work in.
Pros
Permanent job role
Cons
Salary

The food was poor and people were rude to me and the management didn’t care! would

Worst. Company. Ever.
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Merthyr Tydfil - 21 July 2020
Obviously not going to be the easiest job in the world considering that you are literally forcing people to pay debts back in time frames that they obviously can’t afford. The training is informative and well written, the only issue is you are literally thrown into the deep end, as soon as your 3 week training is up, you are desperate from your training group and thrown on to a team. Management suck, the call centre manager can’t be bothered to speak to anybody bar her ‘friendship’ group, rude and disrespectful and could not care less if you are having issues. They all have little cliques and newbies do not fit
Pros
Absolutely none!
Cons
Work life balance is awful, management are cliquey and don’t care for anyone bar themselves. Horrible customers, horrible place to work in general.

Excellent job if you can calmly handle conflict
Enforcement Agent (Former Employee) - Berkshire - 17 July 2020
Excellent management who fully support you and understand the unique pressure of the job . If you work hard and have a high level of integrity then you will do well and earn accordingly. The job is stressful and challenging. There is conflict and being able to deescalate and deal with complex behaviour is a core skill. This job is not for everybody but you get out what you put in.
Pros
Management, hours
Cons
Stressful, lone working

No Job Satisfaction
Enforcement Officer (Former Employee) - London North, Greater London - 29 March 2020
To do this job you have to want to rip off people for a company that does not care about you at all.
Would not work here again and i wouldn't recommend, advertise high salary expectation but in reality not very achievable.

Arrogant Mangers and Poor Work
Court Enforcement Agent (Former Employee) - South East - 24 February 2020
The senior managers are arrogant and have no interest in the welfare of Enforcement Agents. Marstons have lost a lot of contracts and the quality of work is very poor as a result. They will promise you the world at interview, but it will not be delivered. They will expect you to visit addresses that have been proven to not be in date so that they can earn money from you for the letter drop, whilst you get nothing. The best I can advise is don't touch this company with a barge pole.
