I worked with the company and pull you to do the norm and those who do and those who work all that money take is not a company with a good management so it is not good to be with them on contract with agencies is better paid than them I don't pay overtime so it's not a fair company in many points of view etc ...
Worked at Runcorn for 14 years as hgv driver ,was a good company untill 2015 ,all change managers promoted from within took family and friends on board , some of which only worked 27 hours per week whilst other drivers are doing 45 job is hard graft in some dirty conditions but don't complain as you don't get any help from office
If you name is evans its easy days
No overtime, but family get paid for 2nd runs .
Unpaid overtime you must finish the deliveries unpaid keep swapping the crews around and give you unrealistic time windows on your daily delivery sheet to make it look like you are only going to do a 8 hour dayNo time allowed for traffic or problems or tricky customers
Workmates a good laugh
Unpaid overtime and unrealistic time expectations for deliveries
I would avoid Matthew Clark’s honestly . I have worked here for 5 years and it used to be great and really enjoyable, job and knock was the only huge benefit to it . Now it’s 11-12 hours planned for 26k Gone downhill rapidly
Used to be job and knock
Poor wage for long hours
I enjoyed working here, if only the management were more transparent with staff. Good working environment and perks, large onsite car park and great marketing events for suppliers
Perks, product tasting, car park
Forever changing market can be hard to keep up
It's a good place to work at some of the people are a good laugh but some can be difficult to work with or quite sly and will do anything to get you in trouble I had a very good experience working there although the manager there Ian is not very nice at all and is just disrespectful and will do anything to get rid of you otherwise it's a pleasant place to work at although can be tiring work as it can be quite heavy items to light and lug around

Love working at MC with fantastic ppl. Keeps me fit and active. I see parts of the county I would never see if I didn’t work here. I get on well with management they are very pleasant to me. It’s a shame the place has to move/merge with tennents and brake a good team up but business is business
Has a company matthew clark constantly struggles to adapt to the modern way of working with its company practices to its in-house policies a day to day job a matthew clark is like going back in time to It’s treatment of staff when unreasonable requests are forced with the employees option taken into consideration low code off ethics and always a case of profits over people the 90’s rather than 2020
Job and finish
Profits over people
I enjoyed the short time I worked for Matthew Clark. They were friendly, pragmatic and presented an honest, helpful work culture.
During my period of employment with Matthew Clark I found my colleagues to be friendly, helpful and cooperative. The senior staff were very pragmatic and comfortable in their roles and this gave me confidence in mine. The environment was well suited to the work and while not all equipment was available all the time, solutions to such issues were quickly and sensibly resolved without conflict or panic. I would gladly work for this company again.
Great people and a lot of benefits but the company has struggled from the top over the last few years. Too many changes and no clear direction filters down to the bottom. People being given roles (out of their depth) for the sake of it and too much of the staff lack ambition. Not massively challenging but there is plenty of room for development and progression.
The pay is ok but could do with a better wage to be closer to similar dray team. There's not much of a working together as a team. If you don't mind hard work with ok pay as long as you have no debt and don't mind working all hours then it's for you it's not for everyone.
26 day's holiday
Long day's no overtime pay after forty hours
Good but found I was better at returns desk end told law wouldn't allow me to do long periods at what I did best
Made a good job of discussing with management ways to improve things that i did . And helped with loading up the Van's. Also kept broken area tidy and clean sorted some into boxes for staff at discount prices
Kept the law
Lots of staff talk about how bad they have it here but since I started I have been left to do my job and have been praised for doing it well. If drivers crash trucks they are investigated and given a re training test. I have seen drivers lose their jobs for having regular accidents. I like the 5 day week working Monday to Friday with my hours not being more than 44 per week since I started. I don’t get overtime pay but sometimes work less than the 40 hours I am paid.
