Works good overall, office is a let down
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Holyhead, Gwynedd - 20 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedDon’t expect much from management. Can work anywhere between 8-12 hours per night and mostly drop and swap. Working nights you’re left alone so that’s good. They refuse to pay towards CPC course. No communication between office staff, booking time off is a chore and they still send you work, not know you’ve booked time off.

Unproductive and poorly managed
Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Warwick - 31 May 2023
Transport office are clueless and careless when it comes to assist you with problem solving. Trailers are not maintained properly and quit often go out while defective. Place is very unorganized which make your work a lot harder than necessary.

stressful, unhelpful and unrealistic work ethics
Driver (Former Employee) - Warwick, Warwickshire - 11 November 2021
Do not go to this company. They have not got a clue about drivers welfare or proper planning. To many managers telling drivers different things and unrealistic delivery times.
Pros
weekly pay
Cons
bad attitude to drivers and half of the trailers are not road worthy

Best HGV Job I Have Ever Had!
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 19 November 2020
I have heard alot of bad reviews for working on the general haulage side of Maxi. But as for working on DAF/ Volvo contract I have never had a job better. Brand new trucks, decent managers just go out and do the job no phone calls or mither and decent salary for working nights £12.50 an hour for Class 1.
Pros
Good Pay, Weekends off.
Cons
Have to wait 3 months for uniform.

it was a good experience - in that i learned how bad a company can be
Supervisor (Former Employee) - Wrexham, Wrexham - 11 March 2020
no idea where to start with maxi haulage - my senior bosses were arrogant, clueless, and nepotistic, the juggernaut drivers were like something from a 1970s itv comedy show and impossible to manage (i lost track of complaints i got from motorists about their dangerous driving), the wages were awful, and stress levels went through the roof every day. very difficult trying to mediate between senior bosses who didn't care one bit and drivers shouting down my throat all day.
i did gain valuable experience as it taught me exactly the kind of company i should NOT waste my precious energy on. it's a cliche when people say the happiest day at work was the day they quit, but it's true in the case of maxi haulage. the bosses should wake up and realize there is more to a business than looking good on the website, but that is all that matters to them.
good riddance, maxi haulage.

Wow not even £10 a hour for class 1 hgv just shows what a shoddy outfit maxi is that's ridiculous another place to make people work unrealistic hours to earn a living. People spend 3000 to get the licence to walk in to a job less than £10 a hour disgusting. No wonder the looking for drivers

Dont expect the truth from managment
HGV Driver class 1 (Former Employee) - Holyhead, Gwynedd - 23 December 2018
worked for this shower out of Holyhead, at interview told how good the job is, all lies. Maxi have got to be the worst company I have found, The truth is not used by management and never will be, you will be treated like dirt by the manager of Warrington. better to work for other company's in the area and don't leave a job to go to Maxi, you will regret it.
Cannot rate the CEO, but if he condones the actions of his managers he will also be very poor..
Pros
Not many
Cons
too many to list
