Worked for Mears care as a support worker. High work load and not enough time between clients. Always wanted you to work more hours, however staff were very friendly and training was thorough.

Awesome place to work

Mears is an awesome place to work, a sense of belonging and you are able to work and share your ideas freely. Loved the team I worked with.Management is has open door policy Culture is inclusive and diverseWork is interesting and fast pace.

Good overall company

A good company to work for . Relaxed approach to work and as long as you do your job no one tends to bother you . Good team of lads and managers . I would like a bit more communication from them at times

Poorly run

Very poor on all fronts, worked here as covid hit and they took no prisoners. Elderly and vulnerable had us all in there homes. And wouldnt accept no for an answer when caring for the people

Not the worst place but not the best either

Not the best place to work on would want to work there again. They would call on my days off and beg me to work as there was no oneElse. Total guilt tripping.

Good Place to Work

Mears is a fun place to work, nice environment with a team thay is always willing to help! Lots of opportunities to develop and learn about the wider business. Workload can be high, but it is recognised and appreciated.

Unhealthy work culture

There is no progression here, there are no learning opportunities to progress your career. Toxic work culture, not appreciated for the work that you do, unrealistic heavy workload, training will take far too long when it could have been done in a short time frame. Not trusted to work from home (the role can be done from home). My colleagues were lovely and really supportive however management was poor. Pay is not reflective of the heavy workload. The job itself was simple and easy to do.

Hated it There

The culture and ethos of the company was dreadful. For a care company they treated their service users with contempt. Their staff with great indifference. It was a soul draining place to work. Management had no sense of leadership and lower ranked employees were not listed to when they raised issues with service delivery that were endangering themselves and service users.

Very boring. Regional manager was very good but other managers in the business have no time for you. You are left to fend for yourself. Job not as advertised either. Do not recommend

Good employer

Having worked at Mears for 6 years I have seen many changes. The company is a very understanding employer and goes further than most to accommodate their employees.The pays not amazing, however I have great job security and progression is available if you put the effort in. Extra holidays and sick does compensate for the pay.

Bad work environment

Gave you unrealistic tasks and deadlines day to day. Also working conditions were beyond a joke. Next to no help from management.No toilet/washing facilities ..Unless you want to drive to head office which they discourage and yes tenants do report you if you use theirs. Also watch trackers (GPS) on pdas all the time to know where you are all the time for "health and safety" reasons

The work here is rewarding. You can choose the amount of work you take and the hours, days, times. They can be very flexible to suit your timetable. Uniform, and equipment supplied. But low fuel reimbursement.

Enjoyed my time as supervisor then site manager. Dissapointing to leave after management restructure and relocation of office. Would like to work with mears again someday

Very good experience

On the longhurst contract out of Peterborough was great job as gas engineer, shame the contract came to a end. Manager and supervisors were very fair and all worked together to sort jobs out

Productive and great work place.

Really enjoyed my time working at Mears.Learnt a lot and picked up many new skills. It’s a great place for learning.Loved working in new places regularly and enjoyed the management there.

Fun, Friendly Workplace

Its fast paced and there is plenty to do! No two days are the same but the team are excellent, friendly and supportive. Managers are approachable and down to earth, sharing a real interest in your well-being and development.

Unorganised & poor management

Management have no experience, no idea how to manage or communicate, very unprofessional. Expected to do others people works with no appreciation. Wouldn’t recommend the company.

all about the numbers

constant pressure to close and complete the jobs for management so their figures look good, They are not interested in anything but having the numbers look right.


Systems easy to work


if youre good at your job you're kept there rather that progress you and have to train someone else
