Good workplace all round

Good holidays, great salary, good team, good location, good management. Best thing about the role is the flexibility to work from the office and work from home!

Not the best
Electrician (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 31 October 2023
Ok to fill a career gap but couldn’t stay here long term. Bad management and culture. Plenty of overtime which was good. Pay cycles were very strange though and impossible to work out.

Good money, poorly managed
Gas Engineer (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 3 October 2023
You’ll earn a fair wage at Mears, but the management are incredibly slippery and blasé, so good luck trying to get anywhere with them. You do get left alone for the most part, though. It’s a good earner, but can be annoying when you need something done.

Shocking!
Welfare Manager (Former Employee) - Bradford, West Yorkshire - 30 July 2023
Absolutely shocking place to work! The lack of support you get from managers in despicable! If your face doesn’t fit expect to be bullied by all managers!

Worst place I've worked in a long time
Multi Trader (Current Employee) - Havering, Greater London - 20 July 2023
These are a absolute joke. Very clicky, it's not what you know it's who you know within mesrs you raise awareness and you get nothing I even had a supervisor say the ceiling is asbestos just scrape it and go over it, that just says it all really. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Underpaid, always want more, nothings good enough.

Mears is great company with decent benefits, supportive managers, and fun employees. The work load can get very busy and office stays open during holiday period.

great colleagues
Electrician (Current Employee) - London South East, Greater London - 7 June 2023
Great colleagues and supervisors, sometimes feel over worked but that is rare. Great pay also for the amount of work . Overtime is always available if you're short on money.

Do not work for this company
Housing Manager (Former Employee) - West Yorkshire - 12 October 2022
Job culture is horrible at this place. Staff turnover is huge. No chance to progress in the business unless you know someone. Management lie to procure staff however and then told to work in a different area.

A comfortable workplace
Technical and Accessibility Designer (Former Employee) - Shrewsbury - 5 April 2019
Nice mostly relaxed and supportive office. Computers and programs could have been better updated - quite prehistoric! But decent work life balance as work was expected to be left in the office and not infiltrating your family life - much appreciated!

Is the best company that I worked for as a live-in carer.
The work is rewarded with good pay rates and management appreciation.
