I enjoyed the job but witnessed various amounts of bullying from various managers
I enjoyed working for Medway Council the job was varied and I met some lovely people there who like me genuinely cared about the service we provided. Some of the managers were bullies. We’re not skilled at dealing with some staff with special needs which I had witnessed first hand. I think the council could improve on training where this is concerned. It’s not ok to bully someone just because you have a superior position. This unfortunately was happening but it didn’t happen to me.Various in Gillingham, Kent

An interesting place to work
Depending on the department you work in, managers can be good. Some are horrible and nasty, others are lovely and understanding. The salary is not good and they even didn’t pay me enough. Acquisitions staff in Chatham

Not paid enough for knowledge/ experience for long term employment
No day is the same, very busy, have to have a wealth of knowledge to do the job, i do love it but its not valued. Have been with local government for 15 years, but not had a pay rise for 10 years so I am now looking at retail work as the minimum wage is equal to my salary so I may as well take the stress away - who said knowledge is power, it means nothing to this employer.Employee in gun wharf, dock road, chatham

Its a job
It would suit someone who is - resilient - flexible in the way they work - flexible on outcomes - adaptable and flexible to your colleagues and -managers needs/personality types - self starter - follows instructions and can mind read how the organisation would like work carried out - self contained - don't need support - are not sensitive - do not find contradiction a barrier to work - happy to do whatever members ask - you can handle being frustrated On the plus side the employers are very flexible and you can work from home. Supportive team
Fast paced and demanding at times. But also rewarding. With a large case load of it can be difficult to get everything done within 9-5. But team is supportive. What would you say about your employer?
