Terrible place to work. Would not recommend at all
Baggage Agent (Former Employee) - Manchester Airport, Greater Manchester - 2 November 2023
Terrible workplace, next to no management and no structure. You get thrown In at the deep end straight away with no help and no guidance, team leaders are useless and there is no team or again any structure. Majority of the day will be spent on your feet with no breaks at all you’re not even allowed to go back to the break room for a break or even a drink if you are on a 8 hour or long shift. They expect you to be full of energy and act like it’s the best thing in the world that you’re there. They talk behind your back and say and discuss things about your personal life that you might have disclosed with someone you may find friendly in there. There’s no structure at any point not from the duty managers or supervisors or team leaders. You are offered no help or guidance even if you beg and plead and will only help or talk to you if it benefits them in any way.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Eveything

Toxic culture
PSA (Former Employee) - London Heathrow Terminal 2 - 1 November 2023
The culture of favouritism and selective competency is insane. If you aren’t in a clique you’re deliberately made to feel under valued, whilst told the opposite. Senior management add no value to the environment and culture and seem to feel that they are doing you a favour with low salary and inflexibility. Staff are nice when they are awake. The job is good as a temporary filler but nothing more.
Pros
Nice people
Cons
Culture

The work environment is quite relaxed during downtime but can get buy, staff help each other out. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A typical day is pretty routine as long as everything goes to plan.

Good culture, harsh hours
Ramp Agent (Former Employee) - Victoria - 9 October 2023
The culture was amazing. The type of place where you give everyone a hand shake when you start your shift. The supervisors were nice, and there was a strong sense of working together effectively to get everything down. There is conflict with some of the other agencies you work with which can lead to issues, but the people will stick up for you if you don't make bad errors.
Pros
Down time during less busy periods
Cons
Vastly rotating roster

Working for menzies
Aircraft Refueller (Current Employee) - Luton Airport - 25 September 2023
Good place to work but shift work can put a strain on a family life . Pay is good but in return total compliance required. Your opinion doesn’t count. No input required from employees.

Busy and stressful, but fun at times
Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Luton, Bedfordshire - 12 September 2023
It is a very varied environment, where you have to deal with not necessary happy passengers, but you can make nice friendships there with colleagues. Management okish...

Ramp Agent (Current Employee) - lhr - 8 September 2023
Been working with Menzies for a few months and have found everyone has been pleasant and easy to work with. Plenty of opportunity to progress if you have the motivation

Could be a lot better
Customer Service Agent (Current Employee) - Gatwick Airport Station, West Sussex - 5 September 2023
Very busy at times, with no help from anyone. Some colleagues are great but others don't really do anything and hide from customers. Overtime is not worth it. Shift pattern is awful, with a lot of shift that have only 11 hours beween them. A lot of favoritism.

Avoid at all costs
PSA (Former Employee) - Heathrow, Greater London - 29 August 2023
Useless managers, especially at Finnair, you’d think it’s the passengers who’d annoy you but they’re really nice and friendly. Staff are great but management let down the company

Good place to learn the industry, however not a career for most.
Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 28 August 2023
Great job to get your foot in the door in an aviation environment. I learned a lot about the industry. Shifts are normally around 10-12 hours (if full time), 4-6 hours (if part time) working 4 on 2 off basis. Meaning normally only getting one weekend off every 5 weeks. The shifts themselves can be busy for a few hours during peaks, and at first can be quite stressful however once you are comfortable in the role the job becomes easier. Training was basic and I learned most by shadowing other colleagues and figuring it out as I went along. Uniform also takes a while to arrive and is poor quality, jackets will rip easily, fleeces are cheap. However, it’s not all bad - the people you work with are great and working in an airport environment is second to none, the downtime between flights means you sometimes have days where you have 4-6 hour breaks. Management are fine, and laid back, helping out when needed, most issues are out of their control and the issues are with the company themselves such as the poor pay and bad working conditions. I do recommend this job for those wanting to start their career in aviation however progression is slow.
Pros
Great colleagues, working around planes.
Cons
Poor pay, unsocial shifts and slow progression.

Good people to work with
Cleaner (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 20 August 2023
Overall the job was quite good, one of the reasons I think that the job was a good job was because of the people that I was working with they could improve on the work life balance

ok
AC (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 15 August 2023
don’t have much to say about this company but all I can say is not the best and not the worst, could’ve been treated a lot better as most of us were looked down on as aircraft cleaners. Also a lot of drama and arguments- it was like being on an episode of Shameless but never ending

Not so good
Flight Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Heathrow, Greater London - 9 August 2023
Working 16 hours with 5 hours sleep and back for 14 to 16 hours. Safety has no importance to the management and they pressure everyone to stay as much as possible! No working time directive and no recognition. Management is clueless and uninterested, pay is low to average snd the workload is horrendous...5 to 7 flights a day, no time for a a break...in one word, Menzies!
