  • Why is there only 10 pence difference between 3.5 tonne drivers and 7.5 drivers are you having a laugh

  • Senior management need to make more effort to realise just what there staff do.
Nights in Belfast don't get updates from senior management. The night management team are run off there feet and are constantly having to cover multidrop runs because of a lack of staff. There's a new manager who just seems to take delight in sacking people!!! He's supposed to be a driver training manager or something along those lines. But you meet him in the morning and speak he just blanks you and walks on... His idea of training is sending Paperwork to the night guys to dicuss and get drivers to sign. Not really much of a training manager. Oh and as much as they love to sack drivers, take as many days you want off sick as no one gets sacked for that. Place is a joke. they made a senior supervisor redundant on the day shift and give it to another(girl) who hasn't got a clue in comparison. Not a great place to work. Morale is low. Stay away horrible environment. Senior management is poor only concern is about saving money. Always talking of new business but never arrives. Can only mean 1 thing. They don't have a manager with the right criteria to bring in new business. RIP MENZIES as company is on borrowed time...

  • A little bit of advice for the Stockton branch. I have come from a multimillion pound company as an Operations manager and Transport manager. I can safely say the set up there is shocking failed deliveries dont go back out until next day then get failed again due to business still been shut. Numerous rear end accidents and still no reverse cameras to help prevent this. PPE is shocking. Wasn't able to provide a hi vis so they handed me someone else's (during covid times🤔) truck hopping with vehicles not been cleaned as per government advice, no safety glasses so handed me a used pair someone had just used again COVID TIMES. I could roll a list of bad things off. I could also list little changes what would make a big difference but the YOUNG management doesn't have the experience nor knowledge to be able to do the job effectively and listen to what could help him and his team. But saying all that it is an enjoyable job and even better if little changes got made.

  • Stop bullying by day shift supervisors at the Sheffield branch.
Stop management letting there sons and wives work with them as this leads to them thinking they can do what they want. Plus the manager is always going to look after his own and not believe the other work force or do anything about incidents involving family members

  • Pay decent wages not even close to what you should be getting for nights only hours suit which allows my wife to earn good money I wouldn’t be near place it’s a joke

  • Our place in Belfast has to many boys sitting behind computers on big money while drivers/packers carry the place on very bad wages supervisors managers everywhere you look why??

  • Stop cutting staff when we are already stretched as it is, make sure the systems work correctly most importantly the kronos (pay) system, pay people a fair wage for the work they do, most nights is hard work from start to finish just to earn 9.21 is embarrassing

  • The big boss needs his head looked at menzies stands for mess this guy must be blind & stupid how this company is still on the go about time you listened to ur workforce ask urself why u have a massive turnover.. Think pig's will fly first before yous do anything.

  • Listen to staff which do the job

  • Coventry site - Its an absolute messed up working environment, oh well what can you expect if the company has recruitmented cowboys to run the show. I worked a week on nights at this site and not even once been provided gloves, yet the minimum mandatory requirements are gloves, hi-vis and safety boots for the role.

The night shift manager sacked an Opt last night just because he was a Black African and was trying his very best to do the job that he was not competent to do due to lack of training and guidance. That person started working their a few days before I did, he told me " they want us to make mistakes by the looks of it " a day before they got rid of him.

The Management is in clear fault for not been able to running the business smoothly and effectively by not providing any formal or informal training.
