Ok place to work
Depot Manager (Current Employee) - Aberdeen, Aberdeen City - 6 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt’s an ok place to work but you never see any management. Victim of our own success means the higher management just lets you get on with it which sounds good but when you actually require support, there isn’t any

Not worth a place on my CV
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Thrapston, Northamptonshire - 17 September 2023
The whole experience there was a complete joke rules only apply to cover there own backs definitely worst logistic company I have ever worked for from my years experience driving. Childish and inexperienced management with unprofessional behaviour from the top to the bottom. Group chats set up by management are used for offensive jokes, whilst supervisors and managers actively participate in the most disgusting conversations I have ever experienced. But this is acceptable as they label it “banter” so nobody is allowed to be offended. Managements favouritism over certain drivers is part of practice. In a short space from start of contract they lost drivers and managers they don’t practice what they preach and are full of empty promises I was offered a job else where so they terminated my contract on the spot even though I offered to work my notice I found that very childish and unprofessional practice glad to see the back of this place in my opinion if you still enjoy driving and not made to feel isolated or uncomfortable avoid this place.
Pros
Mon-fri and salary
Cons
Bad management

Avoid avoid
Delivery and Collections Driver (Current Employee) - Aberdeen - 12 September 2023
The place is a horrible place to work, hostile environment, once your out on the road its fine but in the depot is very stressful, no where to load van etc. and nasty employees who just want to fight over spaces and other things. Management absolutely useless, nasty and couldn't give a monkeys about there staff. And wages are peanuts for the amount of parcels you have to deliver then expected to take more after your run, and most of them are so heavy you cant even lift them again managers don't care just expected to get on with it no one will help you there all for there selves.
Pros
nice customers
Cons
long hours, bad pay, bad depot, bad management

Fantastic place To work
Packer/Driver (Current Employee) - Norwich, Norfolk - 29 August 2023
I have been with this company for 34 years & previously progressed from shop floor to management. I am now currently back on shop floor, I worked 30 years on nights packing & delivering news & magazines to shops. Then an opportunity arose to transfer to days when we delivered Flooring supplies & now I do parcel sorting & deliver anything from parcels to businesses & residential as well as deliveries to care homes & elderly residential properties or collecting books from charity shops & also delivering to & collecting from in post parcel lockers, there is a good variety in my position, every day brings new challenges & the pay has gotten better over the last few years. My colleagues are friendly & a good crew. It quite a rewarding role.

Poor work environment
HGV Class 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Thrapston (saica) - 25 August 2023
Job was never secure from day 1 with the threat of either forecefully do tramping or be made redundant. Mental health is a joke to Menzies and will get rid of you to please other lazy drivers. Top management is a joke, not professional in any way, and arehappy to sack people to please the likes of one person who couldn't handle their workload. Disgraceful company who caused myself to enter back into the worst mental health mindset and have been struggling since.
Pros
Half decent wage
Cons
Prioritise lazy workers over hard workers

Awful management
Nights Transport Controller - Agency (Former Employee) - Droitwich - 24 August 2023
The business works on double standards, if you are educated and know what you are talking about do not touch this company with your life. I worked with some amazing drivers, but unfortunately the management all play by double standards and are only interested in covering their own back sides Do not value staff at all. Moral is on its knees & management couldn't give 2 hoots as they don't care! Plenty of really good companies out there before you are desperate enough! Only Fans would be a better option
Pros
Drivers are fab & work dam hard @ Droitwich
Cons
The rest of the staff & management

Good place to work
Office Agent (Former Employee) - Heathrow, Greater London - 21 August 2023
You get paid really well and the managers look after you. Plus you get a lot of days off and lui days for working on Bank Holidays. Overtime pay is really good too.

Alright but unsociable
Driver (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 20 August 2023
You work nights and sometimes have to hang on for papers to come into the distribution centre, but some good people and sound once you've learnt your route

Terrible
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Biggleswade, Bedfordshire - 15 August 2023
Terrible place to work at they provide no support and lack leadership and expect you to be amazing as soon as you start. You only get a 30 minute break which is awful due to how long the shift is.

Good place
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire - 11 August 2023
The job is so easy that makes your night boring but not good for the money as not that many hours to work unless you do overtime they have a good management they are always there to help

If you value your mental health, work somewhere else.
Supervisor (Former Employee) - Watford, Hertfordshire - 9 August 2023
On countless occasions staff members were reminded by managers that they “are only a number” and “more than disposable”. Your basic human rights are completely ignored and you are expected to work like a machine with absolutely zero breaks. If you step a toe out of line management will come down on you like a tonne of bricks and fire you on the spot, seriously do not work here unless your life depends on it. Your mental health is more important so do better. WATFORD DOME ROUNDABOUT SITE.
Pros
None
Cons
You will be depressed

Fun. Plenty of banter
Packer/Driver (Former Employee) - Bodelwyddan - 8 August 2023
Senior management poor. Good lads to work with. Your own boss while driving Training for additional skills available such as first aid and forklift operation.
Pros
Free paper. Days off
Cons
Night work

Company stuck in transition. High management turnover plus ownership changes regularly. More settled future ahead after takeover.
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Ellesmere Port - 6 August 2023
Worked for a few years at Ellesmere Port site. Lack of organisation and professionalism is a letdown for a pretty decent transport team. Health & Safety is very poor and not seen as a priority by the Company.
Pros
Good pay, regular trunking hours, weekends off work, new 2023 plate units.
Cons
Long hours, poor management, lack of health & Safety.

Decent place to work
Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) - Newbridge - 3 August 2023
Short shifts mean you need to do overtime to get by, but a decent place to work. Weekend working was a requirement with days off during the week. Ideal for night owls

Don't entertain them unless your attitude matches theirs .
HGV Class 1Driver multi drop (Current Employee) - Aberdeen - 31 July 2023
They don't care about you or issues you may bring to their attention .They certainly don't care about providing a service to customers. They depend heavily on drivers to solve their own issues.
Pros
None, but it's a job I guess.
Cons
Management, office staff, have their own agenda and certainly not up to the task of running this site.

Great Company to work for
Packer/Driver (Current Employee) - Dundee, Dundee City - 29 July 2023

Poorly managed rubbish wms
First Line Manager (Former Employee) - Coventry, West Midlands - 29 July 2023
Wms system was not fit for purpose far too much time wasted. People in management positions that really shouldnt have been. Some didnt know the basics of the job roles they were managing. Some had zero people skills .

Worst company stay away
Class 1 tramper (Former Employee) - Blunham, Bedfordshire - 29 July 2023
The pay and treatment for tramper drivers at Menzies Distribution in Blunham is not satisfactory. There seems to be issues with the availability of vehicles and management not taking employee concerns into consideration. Additionally, the lack of basic amenities like working heaters and microwaves for tramping vehicles is an issue. Long shifts with no downtime also impact quality of life.
Pros
None
Cons
Bad pay, long hours, long runs
