Good workforce but never enough staff to cover workloads

Pay is not great for working nights. Easy but physically hard work. Doesn't seem to be any reason why supervisors do things the way they do and is a bit like crisis management all the time.

Very stressful workplace.

Pore management, micromanaging, disrespectful towards workers and blaming culture. Workload is very high for one person. Workers are just numbers for them.

If you like no communication then this is the job for you

If you like no communication and lied to then this is the job for you. Management don’t have a clue what is going on. Try it for your self. Constantly pushed

Depressing and worthless

Management dont care about you, your coworkers are ignorant and useless bar a couple. Theres a reason nobody wants to work for them. Higher management dont have a clue what they are doing.

Easy if you can count

If you value your freedom and family life, then this job is NOT for you. Management, office staff, work ave 9/10 hours shifts ( leave earlier ) and drivers are expected ( not asked ) to work an average of 65/70 hours a week. Preston depot does not have overtime rate other than working a weekend shift. All hours paid at flat rate otherwise. Management is not approachable. Nothing ever gets done. Always got to chase things up as they always forget. Management talk about you behind you’re back. A lot of sitting around waiting for units and trailers but still planned to a 15 hour shift. Asked to start taking tramping gear when you are NOT employed as a tramper. The list is endless. I hope this insight helps.

Some great drivers, going home.

Long hours, over worked, under paid, no management, no life.

Nice people awful company

Terrible company to work for, would not recommend them people are nice but terrible employer. Pay doesn't equate to the work that you do, no loyalty after 6years service let go

Poor Management and payroll department

Having worked 9 months as an agency driver for Menzies I thought the job was ok.Having signed a contract my wages are always short, HR never replies to any emails, and you have office staff who have no idea, pay is average but they expect more and more from you.I am 2 months into my employment and actively looking for a new job.

Hgv class 2 driver

Good company to work for if your on the hgv side, can be demanding at time, it's a shame there Recruitment team is not on the ball in regards to job follow ups

Stay away

Great group of people to work with at ground level. Management no clue , not sure how some of them get dressed on a morning, couldnt run a bath. Depot manager never seen other than phone, no team briefs, no manual handling training. Extreme lack of care if a member of staff gets injured due to work hazards. Profit over good working people hence the constant turn over of staff.

Home time

No sick pay, no flexibility, poor management

Paid far too little for work is unexpectedly put on you. Brings a very bad depressing atmosphere in you’re life you don’t feel anyone cares about.

Too much favouritism

Heavy workLoads of walking Too much favouritism and double standards Management are bullies and intimidating No chance of progression unless your friends with the management

Progression if you want it

Started working in the warehouse for a few months which led to becoming part of various management and project teams throughout the years. Progression is there if you apply yourself.

Staff wages poor

I went to work for Menzies at Lochgilphead on a temporary to permanent basis initially covering a set route for holiday cover. After 3 days I was put on another route with another driver who did not know the route (the blind leading the blind) the next day I was expected to do this route on my own. The next time I went into work I was put on a route only to be told I would not be doing that route in future and I would be doing holiday cover .... no point in training then

Long hours

Tiring but good

Love working here, long days but good pay for what you do. It’s quite heavy work but keep fit doing it, customers are nice , management are lovely and the people I work with. It’s very relaxed but has pressure to get the job done too within a timescale . As my first multi drop position I am happy
